You didn't define evil, which I think was on purpose. The United States does a lot of things with its military. But it does not jail elderly political opponents and sentence them to death for being a threat to the regime.

Dictatorships do they best to make everyone convinced of this.

That way their way of doing business isn't questioned.

I thought that was what this was about.
Could they...employ their own services?
Eric Schmidt works remotely.

> Scott Adams (before he went a bit cuckoo)

Apropo of nothing his book "How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big" was excellent, I remember seeing when he first joined Twitter. I was one of his first few followers, even said "welcome" and he said "thanks".

Then he got divorced and angry and red pilled. Happens far too often..

> Are they just banking on people not caring enough or knowing about the refund process?

This seems to be the official policy for many retailers, insurance companies, etc. Hide the process, make it difficult, so you don't have to pay out as much.

"she didn't want to accept credit for just happening to sound like the correct voice"

Are you being serious?

She very much did not. And the point is Sam said "we had no idea that voice sounded like her" when in reality they built it with that in mind.
Dude can't tell the truth about anything.
I don't think i'm going to hear "Are we calling all software updates recalls now?" anymore

That game was so, so good. Do you know any others that feel the same way? (doesn't have to be about hacking)
If his point was "most things are getting better than they used to be, going from awful to still not good", what's wrong with that?

If the criticism against him is "he's picking the wrong data" and Berggren then picks his own data to make his point, it's that a bit of a carousel?

What is a summary of the criticism? Is the data wrong or in some way misrepresented? It seems like the author doesn't like the attention Hans received.
> Though I do have a lurker account on Twitter now that Elon fixed it from the authoritarians that use to run the platform.

He made it more conservative friendly which is why you like it now. "Free speech" was just a cover story.

Better or worse odds for you?
Re:The Internet Is Full of AI Dogshit on Thursday January 11, 2024 @01:59PM (#38957013)
Exactly. This presupposes that humans are always better than AI, or that they don't produce spam or harmful content.

They do.

I feel like founders embrace this, slack messages misspelled etc. but communication that is straight to the point

Nice.

BRICS is also not an actual political or economic union. It's nothing.
Why can't the west use radio jammers to make any drone non-responsive once it leaves Yemen ? Russia has been doing this on its border with great success.
The economy of feels
Kapersky denies it, but has never offered any proof.

All other Russian cybersecurity firms work directly with the Kremlin, hard to think that they got an exception.

Re:Moderna's mRNA cancer vaccine works better than thought on Wednesday December 27, 2023 @04:23PM (#38786918)
It would take a specific study isolating people that got the vaccine but never tested positive for COVID, which of course is open to some misreporting (1/3 of COVID cases are asymptomatic and most likely never identified).
Re:Moderna's mRNA cancer vaccine works better than thought on Tuesday December 26, 2023 @06:37PM (#38777277)
Exactly. Cancer grows naturally in all of us, every day.

Blood clotting in COVID is higher than instances of Vaccine induced clotting, in every measure. For every example like your colleague, there are many more for COVID itself.
