Babysitting is the big one for me. I can eat cheaper, but I can't really get a cheaper babysitter. My wife used to babysit for 5 bucks an hour just 10 years ago, and high school aged girls now want 20 an hour minimum. We're not talking "professionals" and my cost of going out is now at least 60-80 bucks without acting else.

You scan the qr code from your phone and it logs you in on that device. The experience is pretty amazing, honestly.

Passkeys are great in that its turning login support on websites into simple "autheticate your device to seamlessly login". My biggest gripe is that it seems Apple/Google are using this to consolidate control into their own password ecosystems and don't support password managers as a store for passkeys.
Also, spend is different than wager if every wager might return money to be re-wagered.

This is just typical enterprise "use AI" infrastructure, not hyper specialized drug research.
As a first step, what do you want? Would you rather live your life in peace, bettering the controllable world around you? Or would you rather live your life in stress and action and possibly fixing the problem?

I chose one of those for myself and can't blame anyone for choosing differently. They're both valid.

From one of the GP comments, it's about preserving the petrodollar and reserve currency status as a whole. That's a way wider scope than a few companies. P

If anything it becomes way more lucrative for the manufacturer.
Correlation or causation? The article doesn't specify whether the subjects' brain sizes were measured prior to the study.

They innovated in different ways. No other phone comes close to the battery density and charging speed.
You're confusing the price of electricity with the price of solar panels and/or installation, which is what parent comment intended.
The product website has been hugged to death.
Re:I'm Tired of Talking to AI on Wednesday May 27, 2026 @09:24AM (#48293972)
Saw this in a PR review yesterday. Reviewer made comments about the reasonableness of a solution and alternatives to consider. Submitter posted an LLM response that gives zero additional context about the PR. As the submitter, you should be the one with the context, not the reviewer, and having an LLM answer doesn't provide that additional context.
Re:Launch HN: Chert (YC P26) – Twilio for iMessage on Monday May 25, 2026 @02:43PM (#48270188)
Does the name come from the farsi word "chert"?
Re:Remind HN: Today is Mother's Day, call your moms on Sunday May 10, 2026 @01:18PM (#48085815)
International men's day isn't a thing in the US either, so that's not surprising. Contrast to Mother's/Father's Day, which are.
Establishments don't record my data or even take down my name. They take a look at the birthdate and wave me forward.
Re:NanoClaw Adopts OneCLI Agent Vault on Tuesday March 24, 2026 @12:45PM (#47505516)
At a basic levels, access layers should be aware of operations that are Read-only and operations that are Write/Delete. It should be easy to give agents access to read anything, then require permission/prompt to execute any state changing operations.
> which has been debunked

That is, unfortunately, not an argument. To apply your line of thinking to the OP, would you say that "children displaying Tourette's symptoms from watching a YouTuber is a reversal of cause and effect"? The OP does not make that conclusion, and most of this comment section accepts that as well. I, like GP, would be interested to hear how this would be reconciled.

Not all scientific discussion is pleasant to hear, but it would be worth discussing, even if flagged and down voted, rather than "We were always at war with Eurasia".
Or because it's a controversial topic and GP is worried about being taken as offensive but still would like to make their point.
My belongings are not free for anyone to come and take.
Re:Why it’s hard to buy deodorant in Manhattan on Friday November 25, 2022 @12:00AM (#33739377)
Compare to an extreme example of a market selling one watermelon for 5 dollars, and 5 watermelons for 15. Sure, the latter is a better deal, but I definitely have no use for more than one melon, and the arbitrage opportunity is not worth my time. In the same sense, I and many others do not need more than 1 deodorant at a time and I would rather save my space.
Care to elaborate?

Re:Remote work may have fueled a baby boom among U.S. women on Thursday October 20, 2022 @12:53PM (#33277439)
I was playing with my baby's fisher-price rotary phone (the rolling one with the googly eyes) and realized that in the past they would have had much more fun playing with it, since they saw mommy and daddy doing the same thing. It's unfortunate that much of the tools we use today exist virtually, making our kids interests totally virtual as well.

I'm sure others with more experience could chime in, but when my wife gave birth there absolutely was a lactation consultant who did much the same as yours, but was affiliated with the hospital and could be asked to come to the postpartum room or NICU and provide assistance.
In that case n=1, not n=1000?
Do you mean Corsair?
