Hahahahaha non partisan org ran by cocaine kudlow? Gotta be kidding me
Is the implication the only path is to design the economy around keeping landlords as happy as possible? Its similar to the fear of a wealth tax driving the rich to move, you can just say out loud who our true masters are.
Re:Anger as man sentenced to death for Facebook comment on Friday October 09, 2026 @02:17PM (#50024597)
Wahhabism is pretty nasty, it’s worth noting a huge number of Muslims despise the sect
Re:Mosquitoes Are a Choice on Monday October 05, 2026 @02:24PM (#49968523)
My larger point is we aren’t approaching the vast majority of impacts on the environment with any caution at all. Mosquito eradication has been pretty thoroughly studied
Re:Mosquitoes Are a Choice on Monday October 05, 2026 @11:18AM (#49965989)
It’s sort of weird to act concerned over mosquitos while humans are accelerating massive destruction over the entire planet because they like to eat meat and dive cars
Re:ASML says it sold 'absolutely nothing' in Europe in 2026 on Saturday September 26, 2026 @08:58PM (#49862223)
Yeah compare the GDP per capita of Mississippi to Germany and then tell me which has a better quality of life.

What is your goal with this comment?
It looks like the strait is still closed, the Taliban is back in charge and Syria is run by a former ISIS fighter. I think maybe the point is that the US has put in a lot of effort and resources into these areas with no outcomes benefitting our country, or the the world even
Re:A/I shuts down – Stay human on Sunday September 06, 2026 @12:28PM (#49588095)
People sharing similar values does not make them an organization. “Why do they wear masks?” because they don’t want nazis to interfere with their jobs, friends and families? You’re asking questions there are very obvious answers to. Seems like a disingenuous comment or you’re unable to do the most basic research
Wow crazy, what’s it like having a job with absolutely zero ethical consideration?
Re:Xiaomi-Robotics-1 on Monday July 20, 2026 @10:02AM (#48979027)
The rights of which individuals? You’re familiar with nspm-7, right?
Re:Qwen3.8 is launching and going open-weight soon on Sunday July 19, 2026 @01:28PM (#48970006)
You do realize the US was fighting Uyghur terrorists alongside China 20 years ago in ago in Pakistan’s and Afghanistan for their support and cooperation with Al Queda? Like I know everyone is supposed to hate China now or whatever but can you guys show a little consistency?
Re:What will be left for us to work on? on Tuesday July 14, 2026 @02:27PM (#48911081)
Who owns the machines? Work is what we exchange with capital for food and shelter, at this point I'm not so sure they would give it to us for free under any circumstance. I mean look at all the homelessness and medical debt, its clearly a discipline mechanism
The only people who think tipping is a good system is business owners who use it as an excuse to not pay living wages. Tips are a highly variable subsidy to workers so the owner's can maintain a higher profit margin
Yeah that’s totally fair and really good to see. It’s maybe the one perspective that gives me some hope
Your response is not addressing my claims, homelessness is increasing, life expectancy is lagging poorer countries and there are still food security issues not being addressed in the richest country in history. I’m discussing material outcomes and you want to focus on social progress….which is fine I guess? Anyway I have receipts

https://www.healthsystemtracker.org/chart-collection/u-s-lif...

https://www.unc.edu/discover/u-s-life-expectancy-drop-caused...

https://www.ers.usda.gov/topics/food-nutrition-assistance/fo...

https://www.security.org/resources/homeless-statistics/

“We” can’t even effectively distribute food, healthcare and housing yet but yeah I’m sure capital will totally figure it out if we build enough machines that just accumulate more wealth to the richest people in history. I love cool new tech but I’m perfectly aware it will not do shit to solve any problem other than “eliminate or make labor cheaper”
Re:Why Does Everyone Hate AI? on Thursday June 25, 2026 @02:54PM (#48677725)
I don’t get this reasoning, are you saying if other people have to struggle than everyone should? I think art is different in that it’s a medium for connecting feelings from one person to another via an outward expression. Sure there’s a couple artist who use ai and achieve similar outcomes but 99% of ai slop is premised that art is simply an artifact to view, totally detached from inspiration and talent
Wish I could shake the hidden hand in gratitude
Re:U.S. Science Is in Chaos on Wednesday June 17, 2026 @03:17PM (#48575389)
What’s the military budget again? How much did the war we lost in Iran cost?
I get what you’re saying but in the last 20 years can you think of any mass protest that accomplished anything substantial? I don’t really blame people for giving up on it as a tool for change. TBH only truly effective one I can think of would be Jan 6
Labor has been completely defeated in the US. Capital sets the terms and has captured the political class. You know this but are using deflection to put blame on individuals who don’t actually hold power. Management can offshore anytime workers present a challenge.
Re:Ten Signs of Fascism. America has all of them on Sunday May 17, 2026 @04:42PM (#48173014)
I’m not reading all that, Donald Trump is definitely a pedophile.
Re:The AI Backlash Could Get Ugly on Wednesday May 13, 2026 @11:39AM (#48123357)
the fact no one can actually describe these "new jobs" makes #2 appear increasingly more probable.
Re:The Disappearance of the Public Bench on Friday May 08, 2026 @03:16PM (#48067467)
when I did homeless outreach in San Diego I was told around 40% of the people we were helping were from out of state that moved there but couldn't stay afloat for various reasons, leaving them homeless in the area
Love living in the country with the highest GDP per capita than hearing stuff like this.
I've had to rent cars a couple times the last year due to flight cancellations. Twice I got a corolla and was really impressed how nice they were, then I got an upgrade to a Cadillac. It had the lousiest transmission and the interior was covered in low quality feeling materials. Honestly at this point I would never buy American, sloppiest fit and finish I've seen.
probably this, since it was 7 years after he was convicted for prostituting a minor, so its hard to believe any excuse saying they didn't know his background: https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/epstein-secret-pic-wild-...

Also that there are over 2,000 emails with Peter Thiel. Or maybe the part where Sergey Brin was helping Epstein shop for an aircraft carrier (also after conviction). Honestly it was incredibly revealing that none of these people care that he raped kids. I would love to see the Trump files which were withheld but clearly thats never gonna happen.

Anyway, congrats to everyone involved on the MAGA golden age!

Re:Spirit Airlines Is Winding Down All Operations on Saturday May 02, 2026 @03:29PM (#47989611)
My guess is that investment capital will move from affordable transport to job replacing ai, surveillance tech, weapons to kill foreigners or gambling platforms. So grateful for free markets
