Price is set by the market. The lease cost will match the purchase price today. It will all be the same for the consumer.

Re:How Google Hires on Tuesday April 07, 2015 @06:58PM (#9337737)
I had heard horror stories of Google hiring practice: long timelines, brainteasers, GPA, top schools etc. Hence I had never really considered Google as an option. Then a recruiter got in touch and scheduled the interviews. I wasn't sure if I even wanted to go in. But I did. And it turned out to be the best interview experience I ever had. By far. I didn't make the offer and despite that I felt great about the process and myself. I called up all my talented friends and encouraged them to apply at Google. They have definitely gotten this right.
This is what I though iPhone 5c would be.
I thought it was to disorient you a bit. If you typically snooze three times you know you have to be out of the bed at 8:00 sharp (with 7:30 original). Easy for your brain to latch on to that. Now with 9 mins…
Re:Show HN: just released our beta, please give us feedback on Tuesday October 29, 2013 @12:41PM (#6635521)
Congrats on the launch! You are in a space close to money (Sales) and that will help you. However, the site needs work. It didn't convey clearly what the product is and didn't get me excited enough to try it. I'm your potential customer.
Hey, you are welcome. I'm glad you appreciate it especially since I pay $80 and don't even watch TV.
Re:A "Hacker's" Guide to the Bay Area on Sunday October 06, 2013 @02:08PM (#6504833)
School district is important. How about if I increase my commute time? Would you say San Ramon or Pleasanton are bad options?
Re:A "Hacker's" Guide to the Bay Area on Sunday October 06, 2013 @02:19AM (#6503336)
Hi. I moved to the Bay Area last week. I'm a family guy with little kids. I split my time between San Mateo and San Jose. Regular tech job. In about 6 months I will start lookin for a house to buy. I don't mind upto 50 mins of commute each way. Any recommendations?
Re:Fingerprints are Usernames, not Passwords on Tuesday October 01, 2013 @04:33PM (#6478915)
How about, "fingerprints are pass codes that I don't have to enter 200 times a day, which I currently do"?

Indian here but on the other side of this. Got MS, MBA, and currently thinking about Doctorate. May or may-not do a startup.
Re:To-Do Lists Don't Work on Sunday September 29, 2013 @12:57PM (#6465702)
I have tried todo lists on and off. It definitely works for me in the short term when I have a lot going on. Recently I started using an app called Swipes. It has been working great so far. I think it holds up because rather than fighting it, easy procrastination mechanism is built in.

So much more secure than my house or car? Looks like it. Also probably buys me enough time to realize that my phone is missing and do a remote wipe.

They don't want you to upgrade. They know you will when 6 comes along. This is for people on "s" cycle.
Re:iPhone 5c on Tuesday September 10, 2013 @02:53PM (#6362352)
A $549 phone for developing markets. Seems like Apple is giving up on those markets.

MBA has nothing to do with bad decisions. Bad decision makers make bad decisions.

At that point why not cut out the coding altogether? Just visualize the output and there it is.
Re:When Einstein Met Tagore on Monday August 12, 2013 @04:26PM (#6201563)
Please be warned about "Gurus" in India. Most of them are manipulative, corrupt scumbags. I would highly recommend not getting your dose of Indian philosophy from them.
Re:Yahoo's new killer app on Friday August 09, 2013 @10:31AM (#6185861)
You are right. General population doesn't care. But the vocal minority includes some of the best minds in engineering. Yahoo gain's their respect. Some of them will join Yahoo and go on to make products for the general population. I'm a shareholder and I like this move.
Re:My First Exit on Wednesday July 03, 2013 @01:26PM (#5986115)
Congrats. I'm happy that your persistence paid off. I'm very interested in knowing how you did it under your employer. Did they fund you? Did you work it during office hours (like Google's 20% project)? etc.

Re:iOS 7 on Wednesday June 12, 2013 @03:21PM (#5870074)
That first image says it all for me. We are on a iOS 6 contact page and I want to facetime. There is a button right there. I know I can click on it and what exactly it will do. The contrast on the text is right and my brain is scanning for a section/button to latch on to. It finds it. Okay, change of mind. I don't want to facetime but rather send a message. Brain scanning for "message" button starts and finds it in a fraction of a second (not just visual but the expectation that a related feature will have have a similar way to be invoked).

Now iOS7. Scanned for facetime. They don't have it on the contact sheet. Wait... they do. For some reason I didn't register that at all on the first glance. Now message. They definitely don't have it: home, mobile, facetime, iCloud and work. That's it. Wait.. that cannot be right. Re-scan slowly. I see a speech bubble next to mobile phone number. Maybe that is it. I hope it is clickable. Doesn't look like a button.
