Re:Vibecoding isn't as fun as writing code by hand on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @11:02AM (#49979557)
Nobody is going to pay you to write code by hand when an agent can do the job faster and most likely better.
Sad to see such paranoia, agents can genuinely be an agent of good and positive change.

Last night I had ChatGPT go through an old email account and surface memories that I literally forgot. People who I have fond memories of. Yea I could have spent time querying gmail and digging but the agent did it in a way that really resonated. I don't care if Sama has my emails now. I do care about connecting with my past and enjoying the memories of a time long past.

Paranoid scolds of HN want the average person to be deprived of value like this for some reason.

Hate it all you want but LinkedIn is still the place to go for tech jobs and interviews. Can't imagine not having it in my workflow.
Re:America.gov – Whatever you need from government, start here on Wednesday September 30, 2026 @09:56AM (#49909047)
All of the negativity from you guys just shows your bias and bitterness.

Hate to break it to you but most citizens appreciate the government trying to reduce friction and making their lives easier.

kidnapping the neighbors* -> enforcing immigration law on illegal immigrants

Twitter has never been better but okay bro
doesnt change the fact that the vulnerability existed. Stop whining
Re:Don't be a meat proxy on Monday August 03, 2026 @02:02PM (#49159321)
Weve been writing articles like this since 2023 and the problem only gets worse year-after-year.

I’m sorry AI purists but you have lost the argument. I know a guy who just started at my firm and he uses LLMs all day to submit his work product.

He’s getting ahead. Coworkers don’t seem to mind it.

It is time to come to grips with the fact that people are going to be “meat proxies” and be promoted over you unfortunately. Whining on HN hasn’t changed this dynamic and it never will.

Re:I Tried Building a Real App with AI. It Took a Year on Friday July 24, 2026 @09:20AM (#49035137)
Pretty sure I could bang this out in a day now w/ Claude/Codex.
Re:How Do We Stop Vibe Coding? on Friday July 24, 2026 @09:08AM (#49035010)
Economics will dictate that working bespoke on coding will simply not be profitable anymore. Great article but there is no stopping this trend at this rate.

People like you are the definition of insufferable. I guarantee you that in 1866 you wouldnt be as righteous as you think that you are.
Re:How to Read a Painting on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @11:34AM (#49008444)
SUCH a great concept, the LLM writing ruins it.
Re:OverpAId – Fire your CEO. Hire the future on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @09:31AM (#49006512)
Whoa there buddy, you are highlighting that true talent, like beauty, actually does exist. This kind of thinking is not tolerable on Hacker News.

Ugh I hate this one
It's stupid laws like this that continue to drive innovation out of California.
Re:Building a real-time AI tutor for 5-year-olds on Friday July 10, 2026 @01:54PM (#48863099)
Not every child has a tuned-in parent to care for them. Thats reality bud.
Re:Building a real-time AI tutor for 5-year-olds on Friday July 10, 2026 @01:54PM (#48863096)
> Not every child has the benefit of involved adults in their life, but I'd rather solve that problem than think AI is going to fix this.

There is no clean fix to this problem and there never will be. Attacking anyone who tries to come up w/ a plausible solution is not the answer. And calling everything that you don't like evil is just childish. People deserve to have these tools at their disposal to at least ATTEMPT to improve their children's reading skills.

Re:Building a real-time AI tutor for 5-year-olds on Friday July 10, 2026 @01:52PM (#48863074)
hyperbole much?
Re:Building a real-time AI tutor for 5-year-olds on Friday July 10, 2026 @01:51PM (#48863069)
Not every one can afford or obtain a tutor. Good talk though
Re:Building a real-time AI tutor for 5-year-olds on Friday July 10, 2026 @01:36PM (#48862858)
Came here to say that 'just get a tutor' isn't the failsafe that people think it is.

We tried to get two tutors for our child. Both had no idea what they were doing and oversold what their capabilities were. You can't just hire someone to teach your kid how to read and expect results.
