I stand corrected. Thank you
Also, men just aren't approaching anymore becasue it's too socially and financially risky to do so. School, Work, Church and now the Gym are off limits. So what are the options available for women to meet the smart, ambitious, moral, fit and attractive men?
There hasn't been enough women pushing back against the toxicity from their vocal minority. So some "good" men have decided to quiet quit.
> ... Throughout the film, Miss Kabak, a social worker, visits Claudine at her home and asks her if she is employed and if she is dating anyone. Claudine always claims to be unemployed and single, to make sure to get the maximum amount of benefits, which she desperately needs. If Claudine has a job or dates anyone and receives gifts from her boyfriend, the social worker has to deduct any money or gifts from her benefits, forcing Claudine to lie.
This movie was released in 1974. Though fiction, it's one of the examples used when people say that when government gets involved ($$$), it moves slow and breaks things for a long time.
I think people will always try to game/pervert a system, and unfortunately we all will have to suffer the consequences. For now.
I do the same. https://thealchemist.dev/reading-list/
My point was about government incompetence. We all know they move slow and break things for generations to come. Would you rather our issue remain small and in our community, or face a felony trespassing charge that can potentially negative affect the rest of your life and the people you may be responsible for?
You do realize that every law is backed by violence, right? How many steps does it take to go from you choosing to no longer pay your property taxes to officers forcibly removing you from your home.
We know what can happen if you resist.
Our interactions on internet have done a great job in getting us to think that every thing needs to scale to the world. If you really care about the issue, solve the social problem locally and share the results and how you got there. If someone doesn't like it, they can always fork it, rinse and repeat.
Everything we allow the government to put its hands in inevitably becomes a disaster. See Social Security, Section 8 Housing, Education (Execution and Funding), Marriage, Divorce, Agriculture, Child Protection Services, etc. I can go on and on, but I think you get the point.
It's good that it doesn't actually send sensitive data. The request zeros out the credit card and CVC code before the POST.
Otherwise, this kid would have opened himself up to a world of hurt.
The solution was to add a 50-300ms delay before the network request. Why? Because feelings and perception matter more than facts.
The core web standards are designed for future and possibly non-human archaeologists to be able to view just about every web document created since 1991.
World's first website. http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html
So if the job is to deliver content focused websites, then the best tools are those that are designed to get out of your way. Astro and the every other tool that is not a single executable is completely outclassed due to their reliance on package management ecosystems. People want fast consumption and production? Send fewer bytes over the wire, use less bytes to produce them, and let the platform do its job.
But this is just like my opinion, man. None of this matters if the power goes out. Fun game, though.
Thank you. Today was the best day for the reminder.
I hope you're at least 5 years into your mission because slaying that dragon will take at least 10. How can I find, contribute, or fund your work? (decimal before dev)
Same with this website.
Dang. I was with you all the way until the bigotry.
Level up, dude; there are more important things to focus on.
Response: This comment is expressing skepticism about the potential benefits of WebAuthn, a web standard for secure authentication. WebAuthn is designed to enable users to authenticate with their credentials securely and easily without relying on passwords. However, the author of this comment argues that the real purpose of WebAuthn is to facilitate third-party attestation.
Third-party attestation is when an entity, such as Apple, Google, or Microsoft, verifies the authenticity of a user's credentials. The comment suggests that banks and other services will eventually require users to be attested by one of these major companies, effectively limiting access for those who are not attested or choose not to use attestation.
The author is concerned that the widespread adoption of WebAuthn will ultimately lead to an erosion of privacy, as large companies will gain even more control over user data and potentially use it for targeted advertising. They argue that the purported security and privacy benefits of WebAuthn are mostly meaningless and overshadowed by the implications of third-party attestation.
Me: I had no idea what they were talking about either.
Don't take this the wrong way, I have no reason to believe that you're a real person and not a fun contrarian bot. And you to myself as well. :)
In either case, our wetware isn't suited for social interactions at this scale. I think small, invite only, social rings are much better than what we have now. Yeah, people are going to play silly games, but we won't see a solution to that for a very long time.
As for the people who are eager to explore the edges of controversial ideas; they should be aware of how to discern a group that values progression through challenge over one that demands consensus, and steer clear of the latter.
And to your final point about being useful to the world, it would be better to strive to build a system useful to just your loved ones and local community. Plenty of people exhaust themselves over words on a screen from fake people on the other side of the planet. We have enough ancient and contemporary text from philosophers and religious leaders to remind us that people, specifically the people physically around us, matter more than anything. But of course, there's no money to be made with IT cookbooks, so we don't talk about them.

Pair with Syncthing to go across devices.
It's a far superior system.
