Re:Backdoors in official Claude Code extensions on Friday October 30, 2026 @09:59AM (#50303991)
Anthropic only has an official extension for VS Code. Cursor is vs code fork and gave its own marketplace.

IIUC Anthropic does not publish extensions for Cursor. It’s basically, official Claude code extension “clone” not by Anthropic.

Ai summary in better words: The Recent Malicious Build (v2.1.313): A tampered version of this extension (version 2.1.313) was uploaded to the Cursor extension marketplace. This specific, malicious build was not developed or authorized by Anthropic. Attackers effectively hijacked or spoofed the extension's legitimate identity within the Cursor/Open-VSX system to bundle an unauthorized SSH backdoor into the real Anthropic code.

May I know if it’s for hobby projects or you run your own business/company where you use subscriptions.
Re:It's time to talk about my writerdeck on Saturday May 23, 2026 @11:01PM (#48253938)
This is awesome and inspiring. I am almost always setup Linux as a server (command line only). Unless until I have need to have native gui. If needed ‘sshd’ to use from other machines.

Here are some more recommendations (not my repos): 1. helix-editor (rust based lightweight and fast) 2. Starship.sh (command line) 3. Nerd fonts (not sure how It will work only used with remote systems) 4. Zellij (cause it’s rust based not strong argument here) 5. Biased for ‘zsh’ too

I understand the need for age verification. And better way to do this is have all device way to communicate the age set by parents to websites.

This is just one of the way. “The Anxious Generation”- Jonathan Haidt put it across. Rey well. It’s import at this day and age to check age online.

Banning VPN is not the way.

Even ChargePoint app does not work with vpn on I am baffled.

Consult a lawyer and company policies.

If it’s same or competing field likely not. Your contract should be covering that for company.

Hey Nick, I find it concerning this account is. Frayed just to comment on this thread. And never even reply back to any of the real concerns.

Here to hoping this is real person and actually created account out of concern and sharing.

You can use vim key binding in vs code.
Re:Neovim 0.12.0 on Sunday March 29, 2026 @03:02PM (#47566080)
Lookup helix tutorial. It’s pretty useful.

Tried to switch but found lazy.nvim better

Re:Malus – Clean Room as a Service on Thursday March 12, 2026 @01:44PM (#47354549)
How is this legal. Unless it’s trained excluding *all* open source code it’s not legal.

Also, using api and docs itself though not illegal seems defeat the purpose.

Also, it’s not right how creator says “pesky credits to creator”.

Just build your own then. Credit is the least thing everyone using should do.

Re:Building a TUI is easy now on Friday February 13, 2026 @11:45PM (#47011646)
Looks great. Curious why not choose Rust and do extension of https://ratatui.rs/?
Agree. Also they say it’s not personally identifiable if they know everything about you but associates it as anonymously. Basically renaming you to random artifact. Fees La like major loophole. That’s why I don’t like chrome.

Saying that I think I am already hooked on free and/or easy to search etc etc BS. Basically take my data for convenience and some advanced tech. Honestly feels like addiction.

Re:Thin Desires Are Eating Your Life on Wednesday December 17, 2025 @11:54AM (#46302008)
Resonates well with me. I was thinking same lately as many other comments.

Random stranger on Reddit mentioned - *The art of frugal hedonism* https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/216874949

This book is indeed eye opener. Though I am too deep to turn around quickly without crashing I am well on may way and there is many more miles to go. Hoping to take few of my friends with me too.

Re:uBlock Origin Lite now available for Safari on Tuesday August 05, 2025 @08:18PM (#44806167)
Duckduckgo browser is highly rated than Firefox in Apple Store. Has anyone tried it? Is it really better than Firefox?

Unfortunately apply doesn’t allow ublock in Firefox like android.

PS this comment is with reference to Apple Store and policies discussion in one of the threads

Re:uBlock Origin Lite now available for Safari on Tuesday August 05, 2025 @01:56PM (#44801696)
I moved from Chrome to Firefox for this.

And found out Firefox is much better browser than Chrome anyway. Moved due to post here as well. Can’t find the post easily to link here for credit.

Re:It's DE9, Not DB9 on Friday July 25, 2025 @01:09PM (#44685525)
This is great. Maybe having total or stats/tools for comparison will be awesome plus.

Set input and output and check cost.

Re:Apple's MLX adding CUDA support on Thursday July 17, 2025 @09:46PM (#44600346)
I meant Apple ecosystem does not support NVIDIA GPUs anymore. NVIDIA itself with CUDA Support DMA.
There are many suggestions already let me through in one more: Affine : https://affine.pro/

You can self host too if you like. Not all features as Notion but comes very close. Seems more private too compared to Notion.

I am also looking for more private and secure Notion alternatives. My company doesn’t allow using Notion.

I like templates, tasks, scrum etc. which I use for personal use. But I am reluctant on saving any personal information in it.

Re:Introducing tmux-rs on Tuesday July 15, 2025 @01:54AM (#44568229)
What @tkcranny said. They are better usability now and more sensible defaults. I also find them marginally faster.

I also using them as way of supporting them. Tmux is great and I have used for years. Zellij is not there yet but does some things better than tmux too.

Re:Apple's MLX adding CUDA support on Monday July 14, 2025 @11:57PM (#44567699)
I want #3 be able to connect NVIDIA GPU with Apple Silicon and run CUDA. Take advantage of apple silicon + unified memory + GPU + CUDA with PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow.

Haven’t really explored MLX so can’t speak about it.

Re:Cognition (Devin AI) to Acquire Windsurf on Monday July 14, 2025 @05:36PM (#44565637)
Genuinely curious for the value add with Claude code here. Some perspective and/or data is appreciated.
Re:Introducing tmux-rs on Thursday July 03, 2025 @12:49PM (#44456962)
I love this. I also want to dabble into loving things to rust!

Here I want to call out zellij. Zellij is rust based terminal multiplexer.

I am user not creator. I love everything rust and finding and migrating to rust based solutions where feasible.

Re:The Egg, an at Home Nuclear Reactor on Tuesday January 07, 2025 @05:40PM (#42628554)
I really thought it’s real. I should really ask more questions. It will be cool product one day. Power companies will never let something like this come out.
Re:Apple Intelligence for iPhone, iPad, and Mac on Monday June 10, 2024 @05:24PM (#40639304)
"privacy in AI" - If apple is sharing with ChatGPT how does it work? Do they try to remove context information. But still it's sharing a lot more. + Anything that goes out can go anywhere in internet. Look at Facebook, Twitter and even Apple use of data.
