Universities charge foreigners more, they have an incentive to produce what you observe.

Thanks, I assumed transmit matched receive.

While we are being helpful clarifying details perhaps to you could mention something about the difference between the wattage of the power supply used and the Terra watt figure arrived at when switching to EIRP.

As a newish ham I have at least seen the jargon but I fear many of out dear readers may be envisioning nuclear powered death rays with those numbers.

I expect it was never a story there.

The lies were published from a safe distance of four or five hundred kilometers away, close enough for someone to have heard of it, but not close enough the go check on till long after the money was in the bank.

Indeed, I thought Britland might be a small district near the Midsomer cemetery.

Shoreing up the meme that there is; "no such thing as bad publicity"

That is exactly what this reminded me of.

Britland is apparently an informal term for England/Britain.

So all of it.

any like area of metal will receive as much interstellar emissions but I guess they did run a MW transmitter sometimes.

Requiring them to reside within city limits and be as educated as the median city employee would eliminate needing to fire anyone.

The residents of Eugene may be regarded as left leaning (as in peaceful, go along get along) but that appears to also mean naive and easily manipulated.

Lazzar for mayor!

The latter, in software we would get an error message, big whoop. In learning electronics we get blue smoke if we are lucky and frustratingly silent failure usually. Add that each failure has a tangible and potentially significant cost and for me enthusiasm does not cancel sloppy details.

It did lead me buy another book the author wrote, and maybe this one will be better in future editions. But I am neither an expert who can just see and correct or disregard the errors, nor a disinterested tourist for whom it is all the same anyway. So as I implied, I passed this time.

Myself I am biased towards antique manual machines, if you are not in a hurry you can push them beyond what we might expect.

no, furthermore I have never deliberately interacted with one.

Surely you could not think the message was to you only on this very public forum.

Ahh the good old Nacirema

@dang this functionality deserves a second chance bump (no affiliation and have not vetted code)

Except the part where where alcohol metabolizes into aldehyde species which cause double strand DNA breaks faster than we can repair them and we get moderate cancers ... but other than that it is great (ignoring the behavioral aberrations).
