Of course it would. But, it's not programmed to care about what you meant to say. It will gladly do what it was mis-programmed to do instead. You can already see this kind of trait in humans, where instinct is mis-aligned with intended result. Such as procreation for fun + birth control.

Maybe you only get to see the board they made their move in. You don't get to see the move unless you select that board to move in yourself.
Or maybe you don't even get that much information. You only know what moves have been made in the board you select and no further info. Do they control that side board yet? Are they trying to rig the center boards?
Taking this further, you are stuck with the board you select. Even if it has already been won. You get to update the world board, but otherwise lose your turn.

Won't gravity stop this from happening? Seriously, the shell of the sphere will be balanced on the outskirts of a gravity well right? So if it moves this will move the center of the gravity well and both the star and sphere should fall back towards the center.

Maybe?
Anyways I'm mostly commenting on what others may perceive. This is the best explanation I can come up with. I'd honestly rather judge actions based on what happens rather than what was intended to happen. Even if the attitude pisses me off.

You.
To be more specific if snake oil really did solve the world's problems snake oil salesmen would still be snake oil salesmen. They are trying to get something by convincing others of a thing whether or not it is true.

If magic with an explicit lack of even the potential to be explained existed, science would still allow for it. At no point does science require that reality must explain itself.

Shift is used for many combinations besides just parentheses, such as that capital at the start of this sentence. It would likely be more than twice as much.

Well, for example say you are using light based computing and transistors. Light doesn't interfere with itself for the most part so you can reuse the same transistors to add more cores by sending more channels of light through. You just need to add a gateway/filter at the end to let them communicate. Viola 1 million channels at maximum density gives a few hundred thousand times as many transistors as atoms.

how's this for an idea, inspired by this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxX_bVluflo it would be an investigation into a world that got turned into dots, or something. That way you could have lots of dotsies font all around, and a bunch of text slowly turning into dotsies for practice. You might also consider color coding the letters so that you have an additional channel of hints that you can toggle on and off. To make the reader have a more gradual slope.
