Is there any way to coerce the Indian government to take action on this?
Looking at YouTube videos where these scammers literally run corporate offices to steal from old and financially vulnerable people is heartbreaking.
>It's the same, until one day India will discover that Russia is useless against China and the US and the West are not. And then there will be a realignment. When it happens it won't be about any fancy ideals, it'll just be interests realigning.
This binary choice of aligning and then trapping oneself into being subservient to one sides is exactly what India is trying to avoid.
Ukraine may be fending off Russians with help of the west and may even push Russia all the way back, but their families, cultural & human capital, infrastructure are all being eroded, significantly. Future generations of Ukraine will have to pay this debt.
India voluntarily making a choice which would bring it in the cross-hairs of China or the West would be a catastrophic failure of imagination.
Why WhatsApp and not something that does not make the attendee's phone number public?
>Apple had the margin to make these quality: you can get better earphones but not better chargers.
Are Apple chargers really better than those shipped with Android devices?
It appears Dev and other such productivity users are a byproduct sales category for most display manufacturers. Gamers don't want 4K+ because their GPUs can only handle 1440 at ultra pro max quality, and TV customers are not interested in smaller displays because, you know, what she said.
Looks like we'll have to wait till GPUs can do 4K@120 to enjoy good monitors :)
AFAIK, LG's 5K monitors are their UltraFine series which have very bad reviews from actual buyers.
The assumption here is that Chinese banks operate with only a profit movie. Things don't work that way in China, the CCP could compel one or more Chinese banks to co-operate if it serves their geopolitical interests.
China would be keen on establishing and testing an alternative to SWIFT & CHIPS, the US stranglehold on financial systems, as they know the US would use it serve her geopolitical interests.
Looking at the number of countries sanctioned, there is no dearth of customers.
This reminds of Borg from Star Trek, more you use your weapons against them, faster they adapt.
I relate so much to this.
Star Trek shaped a lot of my world view. I wish we had more TV shows like that today.
But then, looking at some comments here cheering suffering of others and passing judgement reminds me of the episode 'encounter at far point', maybe Q was right after all.
Are Baltic countries still importing natural gas from Russia or has is completely stopped?
Did the Europeans stop buying natural gas from Russia?
+1, this decision has made me rethink my anti crypto stance.
Where was your conscience when innocents of other countries were being killed?
- Didn't the US kill innocents in all its wars?
- Didn't the Saudi's kill innocent journalists?
- Isn't Israel killing innocent Palestinians?
- Isn't China killing innocents in Xinjiang?
- Even innocents have lost their lives in my own country in the name of religion.
I have been donating to Ukraine's cause since this war started, but I will gladly move my business away from your company.
This reminds me of Shashi Tharoor's [0] speech at Oxford Union.
It is a bit rich to celebrate UK's democracy as 102 years old when they were practicing colonization and slavery less than a human lifetime ago (75 years), isn't it?

It has nothing to do with religion IMO.
Education is given a lot of importance in southern India, that could have helped a tiny bit, but apart from that I don't see how it is relevant.
Dr Abdul Kalam is widely revered in India for his contributions to rocket propulsion, pretty sure he was good at math & physics as well.
I am not aware of Russian / European geopolitics so pardon my ignorance, but isn't NATO reaching Russian borders a threat?
Hypothetically, wouldn't the US would have serious concerns if Mexico decides to join a Chinese alliance.
(I am not justifying a war, just wondering what could have been done on both sides to prevent it)
Could you share some of those emerging alternatives?
India is a young country with a 1.4B population, with a lot of engineers. I know the quality can vary from gemstones to tombstones but there is an active tech community.
>This might sound elitist but it's probably a good idea that C2C apps get their first batch of users and community leaders from high income countries before branching out to the rest of the world.
Why?
Wouldn't it be easier to understand how the brain works and transfer intelligence and consciousness into silicon (by emulation?) rather than try the reverse?
We know our bodies age and die whereas sustaining a computer for 100s of years via a part replacements is quite doable.
In conventional web wasn't the same war fought as 'net neutrality' ?
All packets are equal.
Pardon me if I am wrong, I don't understand web3 or crypto much but what you describe looks like a capitalist version of Internet where processing of every request depends on one's ability to pay. If this is the future, history has already taught us that it is bound to fail.
I have a medical condition which requires enteral nutrition.
As a person who has been exclusively on something similar to soylent for entire 2021, it is certainly possible today albeit not via 4 pills.
Are you aware of any such sources where practical applications of crypto, for earth, are discussed?
I'd like to expand my understanding without getting involved in the right/wrong debate.
OP, I don't have any advice to offer but this is the exactly how I feel. Some people write so eloquently, even their random comments on reddit which I presume they didn't put a lot of effort into, is so elegant. My vocabulary on the other hand feels so constrained it might as well be a programming language.
I see a lot of advice here saying - read a lot, but where?
Could you please point to some sources where you read something and felt - well, that was eloquent.
Nope, in India we recently had a unicorn which launched a women only EV division.
Also comes from a company that does its best to make products irreparable, irrespective of the environmental damage it causes, to pad their bottom line.
If we don't vote with our wallet, for the right thing, we deserve the worse future that we are going to get.
What are awesome stuff? (I am asking sincerely).
Are there any places similar to HN on the internet where one can find high quality, non political, non religious, non news conversations?
So, is there another place on Internet which is better than HN?
In India its called UPI. Maybe others can pick up on this innovation?
