It appears you have a good understanding of the motivations of both US and China. What's your take on the HK protests? It's impossible to find an unbiased news source and any request for information that even hints you're not completely in support of the activists is immediately attacked.

I feel the same way that the quality of discussion here has declined significantly and even as an American I'm tired of politicizing everything in a pro-US light. Do you have any recommendations for alternative sources of tech news?
And here you see first-hand the decline in the quality of discourse in HN
No it's not. This isn't Reddit where any average Joe thinks whataboutism is the answer to any evidence they don't agree with.

You missed my point and I don't think it's a stretch, especially if you don't understand their culture. A better analogy would be if you would return a sack of $100 in nickels, I think most people would leave it. I'm not too familiar myself but if the entire country has moved on to mobile payments, people would be less inclined to return obsolete forms of money. Perhaps someone more familiar can explain better.

I wonder if the fact that physical wallets as a construct are undeniably western affect the study in any way. For example, do people even use wallets in China? They've long since focused on electronic payments as opposed to cash. There's a reason the authors stopped short of making any social commentary in their study.
What is the technical definition of core-5G? A lot of these announcements are filled with political double-speak.
"Citing unidentified intelligence sources"

An option would be to confidentially share with UK or German intelligence agencies and verify, but they chose instead to publish a vague article. Seems doubtful this will result in anything concrete.
