Discrimination exists in many forms. Conversion exists because (Christianity and Islam) cannot tolerate another way of living/thinking implying "You are okay only when you convert". It is far worse when it comes to discrimination. Look at the mass graves being dug out in missionary educational institutions in Canada and sexual exploitation of millions of children in the Church. It's no wonder Christian Hitler killed millions of Jews. Christian Crusades/Islamic Jihad and invasion killing millions of Hindus over a millennia.

Quran also mentions Qureshi caste to which Mohammed belongs as superior.
