Re:Tech Companies Want You to Believe America Has a Skills Gap on Wednesday August 05, 2020 @05:28PM (#24065817)
Throwaway because I know I'll get downvoted into oblivion.

Many jobs require an IQ > 1SD above the mean. This means there are about 16% of pop (if I recall my stats correct) who could possibly do the job, and everyone else could not even if we gave them a free education on the job training or any other benefit.

I believe STEM+Medical as a whole is suffering from this issue. One benefit is low/nocode solutions are pushing some of these challenges into the mainstream audiences.

Launder money. Get a friend to buy $100k of services from you. Then give them the money back.

This will cost you the taxes, so up to you if it's worth it.

This reminds me of the james damore debacle a few years ago[1]. He simply wanted to discuss facts. Those facts were seen as being too dangerous for others' feelings and the feelings won.

America is quickly turning into personality cults and being dismantled into a set of ideologies. The illusions required to make the ideologies true post facto are being made into the "facts" and world views like science and logic are being dismantled.

Depending on your desired level of hedging...

I would say also consider recording a variety of honest utterances of all kinds, situations, and emotions. Anger outbursts, apathetic grunts, sexual even if you so desire (hence throwaway account)... Please dont be offended by this, just thinking of all scenarios for you to decide for yourself...

> What is stopping any of you from actually building a movement to help homeless men, instead of complaining about the activists who try to help women in need of housing?

Maybe ^^ is afraid of misandry and people like you who get angry/offensive when someone wants to help men as though it's a competition about who has it worse.

They will do anything for the validation. We'll do anything for the stimulation

I agree there is a bunch of toxicity. However, I prefer a toxicity I can preview and assess for myself, than a bunch of unknown toxicity that comes as a surprise after 3 months of employment.
I would really appreciated a link to what you're referring to. Would be good for all their users to know.
I'm pretty sure you can find the threads about any company with their search?
"Unprofessional" Is you actually seeing what the people who work there are like when no one is looking.
And that's why there is Blind https://www.teamblind.com/articles/Topics

I highly recommend everyone signs up their company and gives honest feedback there. Closing the Asymmetric Information gap will only help workers (the vast majority of us) make better choices about where to work, how much to charge employers and what really goes on (not the propaganda campaigns that are online resources and interviews)
