Re:Astra can read and write weights to improve Qwen on Monday November 02, 2026 @03:15PM (#50343041)
So how would this be in the training? Does OpenAI train models on their own epochs?
Re:Anthropic hacked to deliver remote access trojan on Friday October 30, 2026 @08:13AM (#50302866)
Wasn’t it called Cursor Marketplace pre-Elon?
Re:Herdr has released native app on Friday October 30, 2026 @05:41AM (#50301643)
Does herdr have a mobile app like Orca?
Re:ThinkRail from JetBrains on Saturday October 24, 2026 @06:28AM (#50219886)
Of course it depends on the type of software you’re writing and just how strict it needs to be, but in general, I find that you need the “spec-driven development” paradigm less now than you did maybe 6 months ago. Older specs really begin to become noise and context pollutants, plus the model is just going to explore the codebase to get a current state of truth regardless.
Re:ThinkRail from JetBrains on Saturday October 24, 2026 @06:25AM (#50219866)
Empathy?
Good luck arguing that with this Supreme Court. A future decision to the contrary wouldn't be applied retroactively anyway.
Or in some cases, not necessarily "owned" but purposely acting on behalf of foreign agents. Kushner + Witkoff running point on all Middle East-related talks on behalf of Israel with their only credibility to do so is just being Jewish, apparently.
Trump is just going to pardon everyone around him like Biden did. Not saying anyone Biden pardoned did wrong, just that it's a thing that can be done without having to name any "crimes" the pardons may be for.
Re:Men Can't Stop Faking How Much They Know About AI on Sunday October 18, 2026 @02:21PM (#50143826)
"How Much They Know About AI" ... but it's actually how men lie about knowing "celebrities" in the space that may or may not exist? Seems like a pointless article. Same thing happens in every space. See: people wearing Nirvana t-shirts not knowing they were a band in the 90s.
Re:GLP-1 may slow biological aging on Saturday October 17, 2026 @12:57PM (#50132783)
I think you still have to eat less.
Re:DeepSeek-v4.1-Flash-1017 on Saturday October 17, 2026 @09:35AM (#50131057)
Does DeepSeek provide the inference code along with the weights? I read here recently that for models where only the weights are released, providers have to implement which could be different than what the labs themselves use.
Re:How the Claude Code team does code review on Friday October 16, 2026 @06:24PM (#50125571)
Sorry, but how the hell does a TUI harness have 30,000 changes _a day_?!
The whole Skydance/Paramount (Ellison) take over of Warner Bros, CBS, etc. and then installing people like Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief does _not_ help the “own the media” trope.
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @06:09PM (#50079600)
Well, the manuscript _is_ written in an unknown alphabet, hence the “chokol daiin…”
Not sure it bolds well for these AI companies if GP is seeing the LLMs fall short when all they are making are “to-do apps”?
It’s more pre-IPOp doomposting from Anthropic employees.
Is there a better term for self-improvement where the model is actually improving _itself_ (e.g., adjusting its own weights in real-time upon learning new, verifiable information)? I’ve heard online learning.

The way “recursive self-improvement” is being used recently seems to be intentional marketing. A model helping code/train/test the next generation of its model family isn’t technically “self”-improvement.

Opus doesn't push back against this kind of thing for reasons like "not your code"?
Re:Software developers are not okay on Saturday October 10, 2026 @11:52AM (#50034133)
What is the current “state of the art” of AI development? Aside from running as many agents as possible, the models seem to have gotten to a place where iterative, straight-forward prompting works pretty well. SDD frameworks and such might have helped at one point but they seem like document bloat noise now.
The Israeli lobby poured a lot of money into his campaign after 10-7 and the entire reason the current administration even has beef with the ICC is because they issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu.
Re:Decisions API is in public beta on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @06:04AM (#49990576)
I think the hardest part would be coming up with the instructions/inputs to send for every non-trivial action?
This must be related to how Toto turns off George Russell’s car if it’s looking like he’s still a potential threat to the golden child, Kimi. Kidding. Kind of.

Signed, a bitter George Russell fan.

Re:Getting the most out of Opus 5.5 in Claude and Claude Code on Saturday October 03, 2026 @07:25PM (#49948803)
Just create two $20 plans and swap between them when you hit limits.
Re: on Thursday October 01, 2026 @04:43PM (#49926859)
Manyfold's Agents.md Is Cringe*
It allows image input. Nice!
Re:GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @04:57PM (#49900423)
If you disable all other providers but DeepSeek in your OpenRouter guardrails, is that effectively the same thing?
Re:Jeeves. Reasoning improves Jev-like decision models on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @10:31AM (#49893990)
Any good classifiers like this or Jev that support image input?
Interesting the `high` effort on the Claude models. Did you find that going above that is unnecessary?
Re:Sonnet 5.5 on Monday September 28, 2026 @03:07PM (#49882913)
Is Opus still 2x usage of Sonnet after this? My Claude Code isn't showing that warning anymore when I look at /model.
Re:DeepSeek Elastic Compute (DSec) on Saturday September 26, 2026 @04:16PM (#49860154)
Is there a lab more innovative than DeepSeek? Imagine if they had the same compute resources that Anthropic and OpenAI have.
