Re:The Affordable Care Act: Who Was Helped Most on Wednesday October 29, 2014 @05:10PM (#8529988)
I agree with your observation, but in this case, it makes sense. As someone with a permanent preexisting condition, I am the only person I know that benefited from the ACA. Huge portions of my family and friends were impacted very negatively. Many of them had their rates go up 30-40% and ended up with worse insurance plans.

I am a bit bothered that the NYTimes chose to ignore a wealth of data for a major current societal problem, and just cherry-pick some category that ended up "better" to make a map and article.

Re:HW accelerated WebGL fallback using Java on Tuesday June 14, 2011 @11:01AM (#2653267)
I don't think they're offended by use of the word "flash." The OP is about a substitute for WebGL, which exposes low level OpenGL commands to Javascript for hardware accelerated graphics. Flash's API is neither low level nor hardware accelerated, making it a poor fit for a WebGL fallback.

So what's the plan for the missing HTTP feature after the move to libev?
Re:Show HN: Patternify, a CSS Pattern Generator on Thursday April 07, 2011 @01:21PM (#2420301)
It's useful (especially the base64 part), but I didn't see any way to actually "generate" a pattern. Maybe call it a CSS Pattern Editor?

Also, it would be easier to use if painting didn't use mouseup. Using mouseover+mousedown would be nice for dragging the mouse to paint.
