Re:IPv6 zones in URLs are a mistake on Thursday June 04, 2026 @08:35PM (#48406584)
It's not hard, just don't use those addresses in your application.

Link-local ipv6 addresses are not designed for the use case of serving web applications.

If only there was some sort of User Datagram Protocol where you could send specifically tuned packets like this.

I suspect it's loaded with drugs rerouted from the speedboats that have been getting BTFO.
He means he wants to run FreeBSD inside the container environment, not as the host OS.

He gets the benefit of just-in-time conversion to fiat; so his exposure to inflation purchasing power loss is nil.
Sounds like a breach of fiduciary duty to the common shareholders.

Then don't set the flag...

This kind of behavior is useful when things are only detectable at runtime. Rudimentary test coverage would uproot it.

It seems that the Salt Typhoon investigation would be better handled by the NSA anyways..

Re:Electric (Postgres sync engine) BETA release on Wednesday December 11, 2024 @03:12PM (#42392340)
This looks very interesting. Do you have any plans to implement a postgres extension, so that a client postgres can natively sync shapes from an upstream postgres? Very similar to your pglite replica, but for native postgres.
Re:PR Process Is Killing Morale and Productivity on Saturday November 30, 2024 @12:37AM (#42279803)
It is actually directly related to the time and complexity of code review. Just because LOC is an imperfect metric for productivity etc., does not mean it's a poor metric for risk, complexity, poor sequencing of changes, or other attributes.
Re:PR Process Is Killing Morale and Productivity on Saturday November 30, 2024 @12:35AM (#42279790)
This, you should make soft and hard limits on PR sizes, providing exceptions only for automated changes or rare situations such as structural changes.
Re:Dear friend, you have built a Kubernetes on Sunday November 24, 2024 @06:21PM (#42231483)
You don't need to use an overlay network. Calico works just fine without an overlay.
Sure there is, if you let an outside expert read the source code for a week.
Re:Rearchitecting: Redis to SQLite on Thursday September 26, 2024 @12:11AM (#41654477)
You can use smoothmq (SQS over sqlite) for a celery backend: https://smoothmq.com/
Re:Production-ready Docker Containers with uv on Wednesday September 04, 2024 @11:29AM (#41446943)
Yeah this would be great if it had a feature like jib (https://github.com/GoogleContainerTools/jib) where it just natively packages into a container. It seems like it should have all the information it needs to work, as long as you can override the base image.
Electronic voting is an untrusted, adversarial context. It seems you are part of the problem there, not the solution.
1) that's not what he said 2) what he said is true
Re: on Thursday June 27, 2024 @05:47PM (#40815503)
Good question. I was required to submit ID to Au10Tix for an Azure vendor account, and noticed that was outsourcing the data to Israel.
Re:The Ten Rules of Schema Growth on Tuesday October 31, 2023 @11:14PM (#38094231)
This is one nice property of Apache Iceberg (a data lake format, built on top of Parquet). The schemas in the data are evolvable, and require both a name and a field ID to identify the field. The names are changeable, but the ID's are immutable, so you can remove a field, and add a new field by the same name, having a different type.

Re:Show HN: FRPC – A Faster, More Flexible RPC Framework on Thursday August 25, 2022 @12:42PM (#32596331)
Hi, some questions -

1) Does the fRPC protobuf binary format support the same backwards/forwards compatibility between message versions as the standard?

2) How does performance compare to C++ with arena allocations? Did you benchmark a c++ impelementation vs gRPC?
