Or if you know a bailout is coming, might as well go full steam ahead
+1 for Zen. It's got a lot of Arc's neat UX but without all the AI garbage.
You think that the Distrowatch.com-published ranking of page hits per day on Distrowatch.com is not useful for seeing what visitors to Distrowatch.com are looking up on Distrowatch.com? Fascinating.
Reminds me of the Playdate
We are not saying the same thing. I said something completely different.
> There appears to be a lot of calls for nuance here.
I see no calls for nuance, just calls for Valve to reduce slop visibility or to provide a simple way to ignore slop. A filter for games made with AI is probably all that most players want. Perhaps some folks would find value in more distinctions (say, separate tags for AI art assets vs AI code), but right now Steam Next Fest is drowning.
While not necessarily indicative of the Linux world as a whole, the Distrowatch page hit ranking is pretty useful to see what people are looking up over there. Mint and MX Linux have been at or near the top for a while while CachyOS shot up a lot recently.

Why not just make an iPad dock to use the device you already have? The Pixel Tablet with its magnetic docking station was the perfect form factor for this. Home control tablet when docked, and simply lift it off the dock and take it around the house for whatever.
The main thing I'm taking from this article is that (editiorialized) "AI is a tool like a drive-through is a tool for cooking."
> a hand-wavy attitude towards abuse and negligence

+1 for Tangara. It's kind of underpowered and crashes sometimes when doing too much at once, and I wish the scroll wheel felt a bit better, but hey it's all open source and I made some mods (printed a case, added some resistors to lower the noise floor).
In general terms, set up a seedbox VM that is configured so it can only access the internet through Tor/VPN. Join a private tracker (I recommend IPT). Only allow file transfer one-way to your NAS or whatever, then use something like Jellyfin to pull from that.
> If anything AI generated menus are likely to lift the quality floor.
The consensus among my peers and clearly the people in this article is that badly-designed or templated menus are perceived to be of higher quality than AI-generated menus. This is clearly not universal as business owners obviously don't seem to mind, but business owners are not especially known for having good taste in design and those of us who do find these AI menus atrocious.
I can see the 2040 study already: “Schoolchildren who did not use AI in primary school show higher outcomes”
We should invest in solutions outside of Microsoft for games. Even if Microsoft comes out with XboxOS, and even if somehow it isn't terrible, it will eventually be terrible and will enable companies to continue to do anti-consumer B.S. like what Ubisoft is doing here.
It’s more specific than that: “You know x is good based on if the worst people hate it” which I agree with the author is an extremely useful argument.
I've fixed this issue by using a Micro-USB to USB-C adapter
These blog posts appear to be well-researched and well-cited.
I was still using an old copy of Options (not Options+). I tried this out, but the mouse gestures seem to not work at all.
It's especially frustrating because the Ray-Ban logo no longer indicates quality or exclusivity: They were acquired by Luxottica Group in 1999.
When I was just getting into Linux and trying out all the random window managers, I found that I really liked the hues of green and purple that Blackbox came with.
I'm enjoying 20 days of battery life on my Pebble Time 2
> BLU keeps their data secret and no reports go to officials.
This is wrong. Their database is live online and they submit reports and complaints for top offenders (along with other advocacy work)
Edit: I found this on BB's blog:
"You may have heard of another app that does something similar. We're different: the anonymized data you contribute will always be free and open to the community."
BLU's database is trivially accessible and full of years worth of reports. But even if it weren't, the creators of BB aren't going to get very far by casting shade on other advocacy projects trying to do good in this domain. It's a very bad look.
This video was extremely clear on what the problem is, but the number of comments here like "what is actually the problem?" is crazy.
Yeah, that's basically exactly what I'm looking for, except modern enough.
Thank you for the recommendation, but I have a Pinephone Pro and I find it to be so utterly useless because of how slow it is and how buggy the software is. Maybe what I want is just something that doesn’t exist.
Is there such thing as a palm-sized mobile PC that can just run a desktop Linux distribution (or Windows for that matter) that supports mobile features (calling, SMS, and data)? Even if it has rough edges or compromises?
It’s one thing to be a Taylor Swift hater because you don’t like her music, popularity, attitude, or whatever.
It’s another thing entirely to be a Peter Thiel, Austen Allred, or Elon Musk hater because you don’t like how they are literally messing with the world in evil and selfish ways.
> We do it all the time
No, we don't. Your linked source literally says that surgeons and providers won't perform these amputations.
