News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

Looks well thought out. We wrestle with website, real ERP and building Notion connectors for production orders in make to order scenarios so there’s definitely a pain point.
Re:Bitrig (YC S25) – Build Swift Apps on Your iPhone on Wednesday August 27, 2025 @02:53PM (#45043519)
I’ve been playing with the TestFlight build and it’s really solid. Can you share any under the hood details of how the system is able to accurately map the loose prompt to fully native SwiftUI components. Mostly curious because I’d love to also build internal data dense apps typically better suited for desktop.

Great work and I hope to become a paying customer soon!

We do mercerize some of our products, though it’s more costly with regulated heat. If you're near an M&S, they carry a mercerized Polo, but I find it too crispy.

Apparel is about scale. You can make a great tee, but fewer people will pay $100 versus $30, so finding a balance is necessary. Cotton can age well, but the trade-offs (fiber blends, uneven yarn, spirality resistance, no ribbed neck) often show in tees under $50.

Thanks for the order!

Buck Mason makes great tees. Our flagship tees use 100% American-grown Supima Cotton and are similar in weight to their classic Pima ones.

The Heavy Crew is closer to their Field Tee— ours is likely not as heavy but softer and more durable due to twisting two fine cotton yarns into one before knitting. They’re made in our own facility in Southern India.

I’ve been refining our fabrics for nearly ten years to get the best fit and feel, sticking with cotton for its comfort. More on our fabrics here: https://www.marchtee.com/us/difference

Thanks for commenting on the checkout! We’re gradually rolling out stateside, so any feedback is welcome—just reply to the order email anytime.

I recently created a custom 220gsm pre-washed cotton fabric by twisting thrice a 60s yarn (60/3 Ne) into 20s before knitting. It could never be commercially viable so released something similar.

Essentially combining the softness of fine count cotton with the weight and durability of a heavier garment.

Also a lot of ERP, warehouse, UI work and fun with Cursor.

Seeking Freelancer | Remote or onsite Pune, India | Part-time CTO

March manufacturers and sells a quality t-shirt. It is the Levis for tees in our region.

We have a lean Flask and Postgres system serving as an e-commerce backend with 5-8M daily requests. The actual inventory and finance data is synced to a proper ERP.

I'm looking an experienced battle bruised CTO who can help make our stack simpler and cost effective.

Time split: 50% PR reviews, designing, 30% writing code, 20% ops/automation. Tech-wise, we want to invest in whatever makes our UX unique and delegate the rest of the software to hosted/self-hosted open source tools.

First time reading about Flet. Good technical guide, a few typos but pleasure to read. Hope to try the project. Thanks for sharing.
Fine interview.

Re:Tell HN: I got 10x Hetzner storage at the same price on Saturday February 19, 2022 @02:36PM (#30399798)
I'm kicking the tyres on BX21 (5TB Hetzner Storage box).

Photoview, photoprism and photostructure are the apps I shortlisted.

Google photos has great UX out of the box for RAW and general photos usage, but is garbage if you have a classically organized album/folder situation.

The article and examples were lucid and easy to read. Thank you!
Books, Udemy and independent authored content helped me get better at finance and programming.

Fuji cameras are great for daily use and its hardware controls teach you how to take nicer stills.

Manufacturing a real product helped me learn about distribution and inventory– something I'd never be exposed to in tech.

Travel helps me reboot and think about whats really important.

Re:Ask HN: Who is hiring? (November 2020) on Monday November 02, 2020 @12:28PM (#24970615)
March | CTO | Pune, India or London, GB Full-time | https://www.marchtee.com

We’re a small retailer and manufacturer of a really good t-shirt.

Think Leica for high-quality, minimal clothing and personal products.

Our in-house Python stack needs technical leadership as we scale warehousing, countries and get into more ambitious product design.

A brain reboot. If you're into design or a minimal lifestyle or want to be inspired before creating a new thing. Easy to read.

I'd read the crap of an article that summarizes how any 10 languages handle these general purpose tasks.
Not much to add. Had a quick glance at the code and set it up. Nice work on the single binary install and UI!
Re:Kicking off Stripe’s private beta in India on Thursday December 14, 2017 @02:42AM (#15920594)
We run a single product web store in India that has modest monthly transaction volume and care about the user experience a lot.

All processors are required to do 3D Secure verification. Local processors have integration for NetBanking. International ones are card only but may have better developer experience. Apple Pay uses 3D Secure too but bypasses two-factor verfication by tokenization.

Reliability/sucess rate is no longer as big of a deal with most competent processors. We've found the need to build custom tooling and abuse data more important for the Indian ecosystem.

Thank you for writing about this.

Unfortunately, study [1] shows that children who grow up in less wealthy households, know 18000 fewer words by the time they are 5 than a child that grows up in a wealthy family leaving a very clear disadvantage early on.

Re:JMAP – a better way to email on Tuesday December 23, 2014 @05:58AM (#8787654)
Fax documents and payment information, poorly formatted support replies, supervisor escalation system after a couple different people over 2 weeks couldn't address a simple on-boarding issue.

Less than pleasant first experience. Card failed, reason never communicated clearly enough. Very slow and archaic support.
IMSI switching is difficult, experimental and heavily patented by many.
