Those are complex and tenuous explanations for events that have occurred since long before all of your reasons came into existence.
Re:A town that floods with raw sewage every time it rains on Thursday January 30, 2020 @10:56AM (#22192271)
What would make sewage not raw?
If colorblindness is due to a lack of cones it seems the title isn't all that misleading.
Ease of use for a very non-technical user.
Re:You Don't Have to Like Assange to Defend Him on Thursday April 11, 2019 @03:33PM (#19638293)
The idea that Wikileaks and Assange are members of the "free media" is a joke.
Re:People love remote working, but only a few fit on Sunday February 24, 2019 @04:17PM (#19240663)
The implication that a person missing any one of these qualities is still a good non-remote employee is ridiculous.
Re:Concepts to help developers master JavaScript on Tuesday October 16, 2018 @11:02AM (#18229931)
IMO, these collection of links type resources would be much more useful if the author curated the list down to something like "Read This_Article for This_Topic" and let people then just google for more information if they need it. Just googling and inserting the top 10 links into a list isn't adding much value.
Re:List of over 350 Productivity Tools on Friday March 30, 2018 @12:16PM (#16717376)
The second tab of the sheet seems to be the point.
Re:2,800 New Data Breaches with 80M Records Added on Monday February 26, 2018 @08:23AM (#16465050)
He recently shared Pwned Passwords which lets you check if your password is in the breached data.

1Password then did a POC integration into their service so you can test if your password shows up in HIBP data.

Parents already pay more to have their kid go to a specific public school in housing costs.
Re:Why Microsoft Teams Flopped and What It Means for Slack on Saturday January 07, 2017 @12:45PM (#13345409)
Look at the author's title. Highlights the post's motivation pretty well.
"most college sports revenue does not get pushed back into general academics."

This is especially true in Alabama's case.

Re:Beginning Woodworking on Sunday November 20, 2016 @07:28AM (#12998530)
The Anarchist's Tool Chest by Christopher Schwartz is a great book for understanding the basics of woodworking using handtools.

In other words, WordPress?
Re:Weird pricing of Dropbox Pro on Monday September 01, 2014 @10:37AM (#8253032)
Who is to say they didn't do a "proper calculation" and result in something close enough to €99 that they just rounded up/down to keep things consistent?
Re:Pinterest Raises $200M on Thursday May 15, 2014 @11:31PM (#7753585)
Do you find UI inspiration by searching or just have you started following people who pin related items?
Re:Ask HN: What does your home office look like? on Saturday April 26, 2014 @07:55AM (#7651111)
Some sort of RAMDisk is my guess.
Re:What do you need to make a successful web app? on Sunday April 13, 2014 @09:11AM (#7581203)
Link bait title and 2 hastily written lists just to say KISS.
Re:Flickr: Invitations disclosure (resend feature) on Sunday April 06, 2014 @09:15AM (#7540815)
I don't think schofield's response was great, but he certainly didn't pretend the submitter was making something up, he just didn't think the information exposed is sensitive. Realistically this isn't a bug in the software, it's an issue with the design of the invitation feature from a legal/UX standpoint. Either the user sending the information should be aware the information is not private and/or the invitations should expire at some point.

Re:Holiday Hacks With Lob on Tuesday December 10, 2013 @01:48PM (#6882727)
I guess "hack" now means simply performing a task?
Re:Websmart, Inc. and 100,000 Vulnerable Websites on Tuesday December 03, 2013 @09:31PM (#6844615)
I appreciate that the guy's attitude is just awful, but the author really should have given him a chance to respond/react before contacting his clients. Doing so doesn't preclude notifying them eventually. It's just common courtesy.
Re:Millions of Lines of Code on Sunday November 24, 2013 @08:39AM (#6789578)
The line count (wildly inaccurate or not) for "healthcare.gov" includes all of the actual insurance exchanges and related infrastructure as well, not just the actual website healthcare.gov. They should have labelled it differently.

Re:NSA-proof your e-mail in 2 hours on Saturday November 23, 2013 @05:02PM (#6787617)

And don't forget to pat yourself on the back when you do!
I would think they'd be more offended by you saying they have a disorder than people struggling over the correct pronoun.
