I agree with you that hes done great things and am happy that theres at least one billionaire whose investing their money for the betterment of the human race as opposed to just lording it over the rest of us.

Oh lawd he comin
Seems fine to me?
He paid 44 billion to restore free speech.
I think his cause is more noble than sheer capitalism
Edit: down vote and hate all you want... mark my words .. Elon is going to go down in history as a visionary, a hero and a champion of free speech.
a bunch of angry ex-twitter employees on hacker news is not an accurate representation of reality
Elon's cause is more noble than sheer capitalism.
Advertisers don't want to be on a platform that allows honest, open communication. A sterile non-controversial platform is much safer for them.
At some point as our rights and our freedoms in this country slowly erode, we're going to be grateful to have Twitter and to Elon Musk for being one of the last platforms to put our freedoms over sheer capitalism.
Glad they're getting ripped off.
The weird part is if you show them up or prove that you're better than them in some way they become extremely ass kissing.
I find it disingenuous and gross and it seems that a lot of people are like this if not most people.
Maybe this is just the normal human hierarchy at work and I have autism and I don't connect with it.
I just try to treat everyone equally and fairly and kindly. I guess I'm the weirdo.
Online applying seems to be shooting the rez into the void
As an over 40 the job search is grim
I don't have to vote for new politicians. I just have to wait for the dollar to collapse.
is literally just gratuitous clickbait.
May have been titillating before PornHub existed, but now it's just a hassle to watch.
It's not anything that I'm willing to work a few extra hours a week to pay for.
USA is not the world police.
If there's no strategic interest or benefit I don't think I should have to work a few extra hours per week to help pay for that war.
Russia has the economy the size of Italy. Three American states have bigger economies than Russia. Were more advanced than them on every level technologically economically militarily. The only thing they have is nukes which they'll still have no matter how Ukraine turns out.
We would wipe the floor with them in a head on military conflict.
> defend democracy
That's been the propaganda reason for previous wars...
European countries have safety nets much more rigorous than the United States.
Education is much cheaper in many European countries than the US.
The US is light years ahead of Russia, economically, militarily and technologically.
It has nukes but Ukraine doesnt solve that.
I just dont understand the strategic interest of the Ukraine that makes it worth our tax money.
Russia has the economy of Italy so its not even remotely a threat militarily. They have nukes but no matter what happens in Ukraine it doesnt get rid of those.
Just think our tax money fould be used for something better.
If you think the billions given to fight the Ukraine is an efficient use of resources then ignore that part of my post.
If they wanted a good government they would move to some country in Europe which pays slightly more taxes but they get way more value for it.
I don't think the US government is doing a good job at all for the amount of taxes we pay.
The United States would utterly destroy them and any other country (except mayyybe China) in an outright military battle. Like it wouldn't even be close.
We have 20 aircraft carriers here in America. No other country has more than one aircraft carrier. Our military dwarfs other militaries both technologically, financially, and in sheer power. Just spitballing but I bet we could probably reduce our military strength by 50% and still beat almost every country in the world.
However, the massive force equalizer is Russian nuclear weapons and I don't see Ukraine getting rid of any of those.
