Re:Recent 'MFA Bombing' Attacks Targeting Apple Users on Wednesday March 27, 2024 @06:58AM (#39837540)
Happened to me yesterday, I was baffled but then I found that you can request the one time password just using the email associated with the LinkedIn account, so the password wasn't compromised

I have changed the password, main mail and in the privacy settings of LinkedIn removed the visibility of the email

Re:We removed advertising cookies, here's what happened on Friday January 12, 2024 @06:20AM (#38966730)
Indeed, you can use that for a plethora of things besides the advertising. Also many websites are using Google Analytics as base tool for reporting and monitoring activities
Didn't know about it, thank you
Quite a big theme tbh I'm not smart enough to make a comprehensive reply to your question that encompasses all the socialogical, economical and so on thing.

But my 2 cent on this topic as common dude is that nowadays it pretty useless to vote since both parties have scandals or some grade of corruption.

On the other hand if you don't vote you are just idle and you can't complain if things don't change if you don't act

I'm talking about almost every first world country rn not just the US

That's neat! Have you ever thought about doing the Android version?
Re:Show HN: ChatGPT on Telegram Bot on Sunday October 08, 2023 @12:20PM (#37811800)
What's the point if there's already an official open AI app?
Are there smartphones with 3x3 or 4x4 mimo wifi?
Well it was just a matter of time, the martech industry need that flow to work to make money

Re:Meta Fined $1.3B Over Data Transfers to U.S. on Monday May 22, 2023 @08:02AM (#36030266)
Most likely even that, if and when it will be done will have flaws that sooner or later will cause the fall

Purely from a logical perspective, preventing the data of a company operating in the United States and Europe from contaminating or coming into contact is a pure utopia no matter how much effort it puts into goal or any other company operating in the same or similar field. There will always be a point of contact and a way for European data to be under the lens of some American agency or body.

In addition to Facebook is not really famous for its transparency in data management so any commitment to the contrary I see it as a paper promise

NATO's excuse that because the US finances then anything is allowed is a fallacious argument.

Nothing new, until a proper legal basis is defined for transatlantic data transfer all services with us based company and data centers are in violation of GDPR
Re:The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Release on Friday May 12, 2023 @07:35AM (#35914708)
But with your pc you can play at 1080p ultra and have 60+ fps, on the switch you can't
It's the land of the free until you touch the turf of some lobby or the interests of a big company then you can see the average Joe on social media, maybe not on HN, that would fight on the internet ring defending the same companies that are triyng to screw him over It's amusing to watch
It doesn't change the point for Google docs & co, it's just a refresh of the UI not a breakthrough update with new features if I'm reading the news that you have posted
Lmao you can call these incompetents and corrupts all the name that you want but it doesn't change the fact that they are not neofascists or else, they are just playing a role, pretending to be on the right, in reality they are only fraudsters who siphon public money
Re:An Anxious Asia Arms for a War It Hopes to Prevent on Sunday March 26, 2023 @05:57PM (#35320051)
You don't need larger ships if you are so close to the theaters involved Also, big tonnage means a bigger target for cheaper and deadly weapons
Now they could do 360 noscopes on russian submarines
Italy was unificated in 1861, a more correct title would be to cite all the different kingdoms that composed the country
Re:Biden Requests Record $886B Military Budget (2024) on Friday March 10, 2023 @07:08AM (#35093377)
To be fair it's almost the same with every president, both party included Biden it's just the last one
Re:Brave – copy clean link feature on Thursday March 09, 2023 @06:42PM (#35088477)
So you can take a screenshot with PiP without triggering the safeguards?
