I never said anything of the sort. You just seemed to be on a strict timeline. Have a nice day and good luck.
I think this is why I grasp on to strength training and fitness as one of my main hobbies. There is no current shortcut other than steroids but even then you still need to put in the effort. If I stop, I can feel and see my body atrophy, my stress levels rise, my energy going down, etc. You need to keep learning and adjusting to make progress. You can definitely nerd out about it if you want. And it provides the dopamine rush after a tough workout and looking back and seeing my progress. It helps me connect with my body since I’m in my head all day. It’s also a primal and human activity that has nothing to do with AI.
Their latest move is calling it an AI company. Good luck everyone.

All of this is in your head and projection, especially the part about others being creepy. You think sex and nudity is creepy and people are arguing for easier access to being extra creepy. That’s on you, but your judgments on others is not a healthy truth.
Re:What even is 'adult' content? [NSFW] on Friday July 25, 2025 @11:32AM (#44684312)
Yeah it’s certainly not safe for work. Should it be? I mean, ideally yes. In practice? Hell no. I don’t need Karen from accounting coming up with her own reasons why I’m looking at a naked pregnant lady even though I know there is nothing wrong with it.
Re:What even is 'adult' content? [NSFW] on Friday July 25, 2025 @11:26AM (#44684234)
I guess we’re overdue for another satanic panic style crusade from people who live in fear and use children as their shield.

You might want to rethink your perceived timeline for how sexuality works in practice for teenagers if you’re waiting to talk to them on schedule. Source: was a teenager.

You obviously didn’t read their article then because they already made your point in a following sentence.
Go ahead and see with your own eyes what a lot of HN commenters really think about other humans. It’s pretty plain to see and very sad. They’re the folks flagging everything.
You’re confusing me here. The hospitals are overloaded with learners but there aren’t enough graduates?
In other words, it’s a cult stock.
Re:Tesla Q2 2025 Update [pdf] on Thursday July 24, 2025 @11:27AM (#44671886)
Teslas are unaffordable for the average American as well. Assuming we consider buried in debt for 5+ years unaffordable.
Re:How younger people interact with the modern internet on Wednesday July 23, 2025 @12:19PM (#44660923)
Discord is definitely under profit pressure and it’s starting to show. Their app spies what programs you’re running and you can’t turn it off, you can only stop announcing what you’re doing to your friends but it’s on by default. It’s a privacy nightmare. “You’re missing out on our overlay” nags appear with you start playing a game, etc. Nags to visit their shop. Is the start of a trend. Of course people here on HN will defend these practices. “Just use the web app”, “they’re harmless cosmetics” etc.
Re:How younger people interact with the modern internet on Wednesday July 23, 2025 @12:11PM (#44660830)
Reddit definitely feels homogenous to me. Yes I know, smaller subreddits etc etc, but it’s built on the same engagement infrastructure that is the basis for so much of the modern internet.
Re:How younger people interact with the modern internet on Wednesday July 23, 2025 @12:04PM (#44660744)
I highly doubt the 25 and younger crowd are using Facebook. At least none a I’ve ever spoken to use it unless they are there to respond to their parents’ posts.
An important devtool was blocked at one point because an agent had another AI agent code review its changes and it saw nothing wrong with an obvious bug. Whoever set up that experiment was a real genius.
Re:The vibe coder's career path is doomed on Tuesday July 22, 2025 @12:23PM (#44649325)
As you can see from the other commenters on here, any perceived limitation is no longer the fault of the LLM. So where we go from here is gaslighting. Never mind that the LLM should be good at refactoring, you need to keep doing that for it until it works you see. Or the classic you’re prompting it wrong, etc.
Re:So you think you've awoken ChatGPT on Tuesday July 22, 2025 @12:12PM (#44649128)
There are a lot of comments here illustrating this. People are looking at the illusion and equating it with sentience because they really want it to be true. “This is not different than how humans think” is held by quite a few HN commenters.
Re:So you think you've awoken ChatGPT on Tuesday July 22, 2025 @12:05PM (#44649006)
The language points to concepts in the world that AI has no clue about. You think when the AI is giving someone advice about their love life it has any clue what any of that means?
Re:So you think you've awoken ChatGPT on Tuesday July 22, 2025 @12:03PM (#44648955)
Sorry, but that sounds just like the thought process the other commenter was pointing out. It’s a lot of filling in the gaps with what you want to be true.
Re:The United States withdraws from UNESCO on Tuesday July 22, 2025 @11:51AM (#44648724)
What a despicable comment.
Most influencers also don’t sell courses, although some definitely do. They try to ramp up eyeball time any way they can. It’s more about starting a mini-community in their favor which is where I see the parallel. You’re right though, it’s more fragmented it seems in the indiehackers community and a bit more ponzi.
This is commonly how people choose to use the “greatest breakthrough in the history of computer science” as it was stated in another thread. Great work humanity.
Kind of like all the investment and finance influencers. If they’re so good at it why do they need to spend all that time trying to be an influencer? They should be rich already. They even beg for likes and subscribes so they’re obviously not doing it as a hobby. It’s simply because they’re trying to get rich selling advice to gullible people.
Re:US signals intention to rethink job H-1B lottery on Sunday July 20, 2025 @01:12PM (#44627165)
I’ve worked with a lot of backend and mobile devs that are on H1-B. They were solid for the most part but they aren’t exactly niche skills.
Re:AI is killing the web. Can anything save it? on Sunday July 20, 2025 @12:38PM (#44626826)
I think the difference there is streamers are just there to get money from their audiences. Doing something they like sure, but a vast majority are trying to make a living. That has a different context entirely.
Re:AI is killing the web. Can anything save it? on Sunday July 20, 2025 @12:19PM (#44626636)
This is a step in the right direction. Thanks for this.
Re:Why is AI so slow to spread? on Saturday July 19, 2025 @12:08PM (#44616697)
You’re twisting my words. I didn’t blame the tech. I blamed management and how they perceive the tech. Tech and hype have societal effects that can cause a lot of pain. Ignoring that helps nobody. That’s why people created the term tech bro, to highlight tech careerists that haven’t a clue or don’t care about the effects of their work on society. If we had reasonable takes on the techs limitations you wouldn’t have people in charge overreaching like this due to their own ignorance. But lots of these folks want to believe the hype as it’s in their best interest to do so.
Re:OpenAI claims Gold-medal performance at IMO 2025 on Saturday July 19, 2025 @11:55AM (#44616567)
Sure but it’s still a gold rush with a lot of exaggeration pushed by tech executives to acquire investors. There’s a lot of greed and fear to go around. I think LLMs are fascinating and cool myself having grown up with Eliza and crappy expert systems, but am more interested in deep learning outcomes like Alphafold than general purpose LLMs. You don’t hear enough about non-LLM AI because of all the money riding on LLM based tech. It’s hard not to see the bad behavior that has arisen due to all the money being thrown about. So that is to say it makes sense there is some skepticism as you can’t take what these companies say at face value. It’d be nice to have a toned down discussion about what LLMs can and can’t do but there is a lot of obfuscation and hype. Also there is the conversation about what they should or shouldn’t be doing which is completely fair to talk about.
I’ve rarely seen them used for that purpose, but of course that’s my personal observation and I have no data about it. A lot of H1B folks I worked with were solid backend/mobile devs. I enjoyed working with most of them but it’d be a stretch to say they were uniquely qualified. I do notice they feel a lot of pressure to never push back on anything due to how they set up the H1B system. Not always the case but often. I always felt that they were being exploited in that way.
