What are your opinions on the Rupert Lowe report that said quarter million girls were raped
And freedom to rape.
Far right isn't good enough for these people. They are radical-ultra-far-hard-alt right.

If MAID isn't the first result on every health related query then it's just a cheap knockoff of superior European search engines

Google is so anti open it's the new Microsoft. I hope for a day when my phone runs nixos with Qt apps. Qt is so much better than java that I'm sure I'll be able to make do in 4gb what android takes 16gb for.

In the era of hallucinated apps, this doesn't even seen like an imaginary wishful scenario.

I understand your disdain for fandom but in this case this isn't a product by framework. This is a 3d part product resulting from framework's basic motivation and associated actions of nurturing a 3rd party ecosystem. I don't like fandom but we can admit framework's theoretical raison d'etre is pretty good

It's over. Open models and chinese models will make fast progress and that nvidia+ms 128gb monster is what everyone will end up buying. sama can go back to running scams.
I'm worried about the carbon footprint and other impacts of the higher temperature
Re:LuaJIT 3.0 proposed syntax extensions on Wednesday June 24, 2026 @10:18PM (#48668036)
Are there any rough estimates on popularity of lua implementations? At this point it feels lua means luajit
Re:LuaJIT 3.0 proposed syntax extensions on Wednesday June 24, 2026 @10:14PM (#48668004)
What are some pragmatic embedded scripting languages of choice these days if one has to consider:

1) Ease of learning, ideally minimal deviant behaviour (eg i consider lua tables to be a new concept in itself)

2) Reasonably fast. Not as much as lua jit but even half would be good enough

3) Mature

4) Has Rust bindings

Like him or hate him, Venezuela has been quite literally a fabulous win.
As much as I hate to say this, I'm afraid that Musk is abusing his capital power and Grok Build will end up as the top model eventually.

I tried it on a couple of projects and was (pleasantly?) surprised how good it was. I have no doubt in my mind that spacex needs to be broken up before they grow too big because grok build is going to be the future coding model of choice

Use grok build. They've got some pretty cool things going

Please buy pinephone instead.
All the loudest anti trump leaders are his friends. Couple days ago there was an nyt report that macron and trump talk on personal numbers extending the last syllable of first name. Emmanuelllll Donalllllld

It's only us general public that suffers while we console ourselves that maybe they are cheating him just go sleep peacefully

What's bas about them and what are the alternatives, genuinely curious since never seen them spoken of
Rust has "pascal style strings" (quotes because the concept is slightly different) so it's not a done deal
The preposition ("butt") is wrong
Re:Commodore Made a Digital Detox Phone That Isn't Dumb on Sunday June 21, 2026 @11:55AM (#48619975)
Wonder why pine can't do this? Not dissing on commodore. With hallucinated apps, the gap is going to be really small with play store

You clearly haven't visited any Buddhist forums, or generally non-islamic religious forums

If your website attracts such elements perhaps there's a reason?
Re: on Saturday June 20, 2026 @07:47PM (#48614211)
First saw this on lobste.rs . Great idea, perhaps allow for a little customisation? I'd like minimal animation, just a counter of present people and a green dot that vibrates when someone is typing. Clicking either opens a chat box with last 20 minutes.

And he doomed tesla which was earlier soaring to become a trillion dollar company
Aren't these names trademarked? I can imagine lockheed selling the rights for a side income lol
The entire concept of democracy is flawed. There should be proportional representation based on IQ and paid taxes.
I only came here for the pasta and as of 122 comments nobody has posted it. Sadly one of the brothers is no more
There's a reason these fonts have been outlawed by the ghost of Jeff Raskin. They are harder to read.
Re:Why stdx is not on crates.io on Wednesday June 17, 2026 @10:58AM (#48571447)
More like which stdx?

I appreciate prople's efforts but they are misplaced. If I were passionate about this-- i'd do two things

1) A crates.io alternative which allows namespaces in package names like GitHub or alternatively. Single universal namespace doesn't seem fine (I don't think there would be necessarily changes required on the cargo side if users are willing to use full urls)

2) some kind of trust system so a user can up/down vote a package

3) Take a small one time payment for verifying a package? I don't know how this would work.
