No he means the 'code' that runs Google in the business / HR sense is not version controlled and reviewed. So when it changes to something he disagrees with like the pillow purchase being disallowed he can't see or take part in the discussion that led to that change.

Of course that's fake fibre aka fibre to the green cabinet in your street. The UK allows that to be marketed as fibre despite the large difference in performance to a real fibre connection.

It's actually very similar to Aaron Schwartz's plan of using academic access to copy and widely distribute papers. This researcher does not have a legal basis to copy 2000+ disks in order to free them from the national archives. At most he has a restricted right of access to use some of them in his academic research.
To test he could ask the national archive for permission to carry out his plan and observe how quickly his access is revoked.

I find Curve to be more innovative because it is a debit card that links back to any debit or credit card. You can only carry one card, use your real credit cards in places that only accept debit. Plus - a fancy app and real time tracking for all your old bank cards. It's most of the upside from Monzo with your choice of cards.

There are small startups born out of targeted smart application of code today that are similar to a lone hacker and sold to Google. eg Graphics Fuzz with it's intelligent code reducer which Google bought to use with Android.

It's not so much a less strict attitude but a willingness to co-operate and allow citizens to pass unhindered thanks to the Schengen Agreement. Borders outwith Schengen or on the borders of the EU are policed strictly.

Airlines have fired staff for eating a sandwich or drinking a coke taken from the plane e en if it was going to be thrown away. It's the same concept as most food outlets. They have no discretion yo give away free things to people who give them candy.

It's pretty hard to buy enterprise. I could easily see many small companies going with Pro instead and getting unwanted upgrades to Windows 10.

Even if you did distribute bat files online Windows would block downloading or running them by default so they are not a useful method.

In that case you would use the chocolatey package manager bootstrapped by powershell to silently install Python.
It's a oneliner in powershell followed by choco install Python.

Rail is in the UK is just ridiculously poor and overpriced. Edinburgh to Inverness which is not much further is over £50. I think this is entirely down to a system where different companies own bits of the track, the stations, the trains and even worse another company will actually operate the trains.

This all very useful information and well written but I have to ask, do undergraduates really not know this or at least figure it out very quickly? I would expect students who are investing large sums of money to be better prepared than just turning expecting High School plus with a generous helping of A's them a nice job? Perhaps it is different in the USA than elsewhere?
