WTF is a “Ketar class SCP object”?
Arabs in Israel are certainly much better off then Jews in Muslim countries.
That’s just ziophobia.
There are 2 million Arabs in Israel. There are 0 Jews in areas under full Palestinian control.
It’s illogical even if you think racism is good.

Your reason for them becoming a racist depends on them already being a racist.

Anyway, we’re going in circles here. Some people are racists because they are assholes. Many people are racist because they are trained in a culture that encourages racism against certain groups.

All racists point to the actions of individuals as “evidence” or “justification” or “cause” of their racism.

We know that racists exist.

Blaming individuals within the victim race for the racism is itself racist but also illogical. Someone who wasn’t already a racist wouldn’t start hating the whole group because of individuals.

The reason is because they are racist.

Saying “individuals of that race are the reason racists hate all of them” is a circular explanation for racism.

I get the appeal of “it still works, so what’s the problem,” but from a distro’s point of view an unmaintained C toolkit with a big ABI surface is a problem. Even if GTK2’s code hasn’t changed, it still has to keep building across new compilers, hardening flags, toolchain transitions, security scans, etc.

Arch can shove that into community repos and say “you’re on your own.” Debian’s promise is different: if it’s in the archive, someone’s implicitly on the hook for it for years. At some point it’s more honest to drop it from main and let people who really want GTK2 own it via containers/Flatpaks/OBS, instead of making everyone else carry an orphaned toolkit forever.

Point Nemo is a nice reminder that some “geography facts” are really optimization problems in disguise: it’s defined by solving the “longest swim” from any coastline, not by some ancient explorer planting a flag.

The fun twist is that the most remote point in the ocean is also our spacecraft cemetery, and sometimes the closest humans to it are orbiting overhead on the ISS.

GTK2 being on life support in 2026 is kind of wild when you remember GTK3 has been around for ~15 years and 3.24 has been “the stable one” for more than half a decade. Debian’s mail here also makes it clear this isn’t a sudden rug pull: they started filing bugs against affected packages in 2020 and the list is already down to <25% of what it was.

The hard part is always the long tail and the installer. If the graphical Debian Installer still depends on GTK2, that’s a good reminder of how much distro plumbing quietly sits on old tech because “it works” and no one wants to touch it. My guess is we’ll see more distros take this approach: aggressively prune old toolkits from the main repos, and push truly unmaintained apps into containers/Flatpaks or community overlays instead of carrying a full compatibility stack forever.

And Palestinian nationalism is the establishment of an Arab state (which requires the expulsion of the entire Jewish population from that area).
That’s just made up numbers. It’s like 10x the number claimed by the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.

I wish people didn’t justify and excuse racism.
Most of the world has a positive view of self-determination for every other group; Ukrainians, Palestinians, the Irish, etc.
Does he support a Palestinian state? Because that’s essentially Zionism but for a different group.
It’s easily demonstrated as true by sifting through the antisemitic comments that are currently flooding all platforms.

Even if we suspend that for a moment and assume that when they say “zionists” they do not mean “jews”, making the sort of demonizing statements about a large group people with loosely defined membership is not unlike antisemitism or islamophobia.

In this very thread throw310822 has said “Such are the methods and powers of zionists”, and that I am a zionist. So are those now my powers? Do all the tropes now apply to me?

“Zionists” is now an antisemitic code-word for “Jews”.
Please leave the Jews alone. No need to make everything about “the Zionists”.
Re:UN accuses Israel of 'apartheid' in West Bank on Thursday January 08, 2026 @06:14AM (#46539723)
It’s worth pointing out that the Palestinian Authority practices apartheid in the West Bank - it’s actually worse than apartheid.

It’s illegal for Jews to enter zones under full control of the PA, and It’s illegal for Arabs to sell land to Jews - that’s a crime punishable by death penalty.

There was no genocide in Gaza - although it had been ethnically cleansed of all Jews.

A significant number of non-combatants have been killed in every single war that has had a significant number of casualties. Ever.

The fantastical utopian war is Israel is expected to wage, where only militants get killed doesn’t exist. The closest thing in history we have to that is Israel’s beeper operation against Hezbollah, but that is a one-off that isn’t easily repeated.

You said “genocide is when unarmed civilians, women and children are murdered en masse”. This is exactly what some Palestinians did on Oct 7
Re:A Rupture over Israel Is Tearing MAGA Apart on Tuesday January 06, 2026 @09:32AM (#46512731)
So would you call Oct 7 a genocide?
Re:A Rupture over Israel Is Tearing MAGA Apart on Tuesday January 06, 2026 @09:28AM (#46512683)
By the criteria used against Israel every war would be a genocide.

Nazi Germany was at war while also carrying out a genocide at the same time. But by the definitions used against Israel, every country that fought in WWII was committing genocide.

Re:A Rupture over Israel Is Tearing MAGA Apart on Tuesday January 06, 2026 @06:44AM (#46511164)
Sure, but the latest trend of accusing everyone you don’t like of genocide is diluting the meaning to cover anything “they” do.

War isn’t genocide.
Happy to back this up with links - if you want to deny it.

There’s one in this thread. A sibling to my comment.

Please respond to the argument instead of making personal attacks.
It’s “fairly well accepted” amongst the type of people that try and blame Israel and the Jews for everything.
This isn’t just on X. On Instagram and TikTok virtually every Jewish post that’s public gets antisemitic comments and Hitler memes.

They are in here too. But thanks to moderation they are usually more subtle and use dog whistles or proxy targets.
