Doesn’t that already exist under Preferences > Security & Privacy?

Afk rn so i might be misremembering the name of the setting.

Even with net neutrality, they were allowed to do so. In fact, they were mandated to provide an even footing for all websites.
Do you have any Mac indie games to recommend? Ones that you've particularly enjoyed? Been outta the scene for a bit. TIA!
I'm in my twenties, and this is basically my approach to notifications as well.

My phone and the apps on it exist to serve me, not the other way around.

Agreed. If the rumored terraced batteries (that couldn't make it in time for this year's release) come through, coupled with ostensible efficiency improvements in the next gen of processors, GPUs etc, we might be able to reach that hallowed 10 hour mark again.

Well, that and hopefully there's a price drop with the second gen of touchbar MacBooks (not holding my breath there)

Maybe she doesn't get to work 4 days a week? I could see that cutting into their together time on weekdays.

Any idea if Dell refurbs are as good as Apple refurbs in terms of QA and warranty?
Re:Sonder E-Ink Keyboard on Monday October 31, 2016 @06:46PM (#12841649)
Yeah, I went ahead and installed the driver manually (sans GeForce Experience). I can always update manually when needed (if/when a new game is wonky).

Screw having to create unnecessary accounts (or signing into services I don't absolutely need).

I don't think the machine is out yet, which probably explains the lack of reviews.
Out of curiosity, what 4k TV model is this? (under 300)

Haha you know it :)

How would you suggest breaking out of that silo?

It'd be nice to have a TL;DR bot on HN, at least for the more clickbait-titled articles (not saying this is one).

Personally speaking, I think this is a great idea. Great job!
Oh wow, this is extremely interesting. Hopefully Google rolls their connections out soon.
How does the latency compare to a wired connection? Is it viable for gaming and the like?
Re:Master Plan, Part Deux on Thursday July 21, 2016 @05:43PM (#12140317)
Not to mention that battery tech will hopefully improve once everybody relies on battery powered cars, and some currently infeasible tech becomes cost-effective due to large scale deployments.

As an aside, holding down the option key on your Mac while adjusting the volume will do it in much smaller increments.

You're kidding right? This wildfire isn't doing anything to help Canada's carbon footprint.
TIL. Thank you!

A lot of people on the go tend to grab donuts, bagels and the like which can add up to a lot more.
Re:Reddit for iOS and Android on Thursday April 07, 2016 @06:22PM (#11451169)
> The problem is no one really uses apps anymore

This might be a bit of a generalization. People tend to use apps for websites they visit very frequently (eg more than 2-3x a day). Even more so when the mobile version of the website is rife with bugs and/or limitations.

Reddit's mobile site is passable but the third party apps blow it out of the water on both iOS and Android.

Re:React Native for OS X on Tuesday March 29, 2016 @11:19PM (#11386731)
As someone who's never used React, would you mind expanding on what your app does?

Also, have you noticed any slowdowns at all vis-a-vis fully native apps?

Thanks.

Find a remote job maybe? Shouldn't be super hard to find one in SV. I know GitHub is one such employer.
Re:Apple fans are coming to hate Apple software on Monday February 08, 2016 @06:07PM (#11061637)
True that.

Plus using third party services is just smart in that it avoids vendor lock-in and makes it easier to switch out of the platform(s) should you choose to do so.

Hi Peter, thanks for doing this.

How would you recommend an H1B holder go about transitioning to founding/working for their own startup?

Interesting read, thanks for the write up.

Only time will tell how this plays out.
