It should be a mechanism for allocation of wealth that helps the country and the economy. What people have done over the last 50 years is called "a race to the bottom", where everyone puts personal wealth gain over social behavior and teamwork like what made america great in the first place. The moral collapse of the US lead the way to the collapse of it's power.
It had too high of an influence to integrity ratio, and got infiltrated by motivated actors. That is not an uncommon dynamic.
It's cool that you made something, but I don't like this.
You're wrong if you are contradicting what is fact, yes. It's also morally wrong to use contrived logic to state big impressive numbers to lay people like you seem to be interested in doing.
If an object moves across a space 50% faster, it finishes in 2/3 of the time. It's not up for debate, it's not ambiguous. To say anything else is wrong.
> Which isn't 200%, it's 50%.
Okay.
Except for all the canceled projects like returning samples from Mars.
Trump's dream is to have his name spelled in gold on the surface of the sun. He's not smart enough to know it's impossible, though.
Weird to assume it was forced.
> I'm still not sure whether Donald himself is just dumb
Yes.
He has failed upward in an insane way. A combination of his petty exploitation of people's good nature and subordinates desperate to be trickled down upon have propelled him to a level of power and wealth he is not fit for outside of his greediness.
Our expertise is in privatizing prosperity and socializing losses.
50 percent faster is 2/3 time, but yes, prominent people have made this error and even doubled down on it publicly.
Something like this happened to me on a very high budget java project. I said I didn't want to make high memory pressure code that performed badly, and the senior guy said the optimization was premature. It didn't matter in the end because they didn't adopt our solution. (They stuck with mainframes, and I don't blame them.)
> Bad banks no longer exist
This is a funny take on things, and untrue. But traditional finance is way safer and better controlled than the crypto frontier. Someone like coffeezilla has to rely on patreon and ad revenue to do the sort of journalism that exposes how debased cryptocurrency finance is. There should be much more money in exposing the fraud, but our premier capitalists are complicit in the fraud. They are fraudsters at heart, which is why they have the money and influence they do.
> Regulations purposefully shrink or destroy markets.
Sometimes maybe, but that's a matter of corruption. Regulatory capture has been used to create regulation that protects monopolies, duopolies, and the broader oligarchy for a very long time. When politicians were representatives of their voters, things worked better. Post-citizens united, the incentives are broken and we have a congress full of duplicitous, self-interested idiots.
> This is why banks are regulated
Yes. Move fast and break things and forget governance... Cryptocurrency has always been dumb. You either con people out of their money or you lose yours.
I had someone approach me in 2017 or so because he wanted to do a rugpull coin operation. I said I was busy and didn't help, but I'd probably be much richer (and a piece of shit human) if I got involved.
Geometry wars was very fun. I played on PC always trying to top my friends high scores.
I'll forgive you for thinking Wii was the peak because people are obviously biased based on the time they grew up. For me it was the SNES/Genesis era. Or arguably PlayStation 1.
The thing I shared with people was his appearance in Extras which is hilarious. It proves he can be comedic because he is just that good of an actor. RIP.
The AI era just started. So no, but I would like if we weren't in such a capitalist hellscape where you practically have to eat other people to survive. The world now is grim because of who is leading. Stupid, rich sociopaths have worked really hard to make sure democracy doesn't work properly, crying about "fake news" and lying until the fourth estate is dead. We are in an era of criminal leadership more than ever. I am worried that the potential for massive species-level tragedy is building up, and we're not addressing real problems like resource scarcity and human caused mass extinctions and so on. There is a really bad future ahead when our supposed leaders say "drill baby drill", gut institutions doing positive work, go to war, and support genocide.
Php was at the forefront of dynamic websites. Early versions also harbored a lot of security vulnerabilities. Php catered to shit browsers in the early 00s. Every single company I have worked with that depended on PHP has been focused on non-technical excellence. It's a bad language. Getting good at using it is a waste, in any state it's been in for 20+ years. Making it work is about appeasing your business overlords and leaving better things off the table.
Exactly right. The inutile minority sees it as their job to make a stink. It's all for show when the vote passes. They are not voting independently, they are rounded up before a vote to ensure success or failure. The vote itself is not what determines a bills passage or not, it's all the strings being pulled before hand; the lobbying, the alliances, the bargaining.
It is an old, bad language and interpreter, so it's widely used and lacks an investment of money, effort and talent. Perfect target for exploitation.
No, of course not. Covering your tracks by manipulating logs and monitoring tools is stuff any sophisticated attacker would do
It's not free but that is why it's useful leverage in such a skewed economic environment. Some people are too greedy and a subset of them are too rich. They do not act in the interest of their subordinates or even the country they claim to care about. Sociopaths who would rather build a billion dollar bunker and watch the world burn compared to leading society in any way that matters have taken over.
Managing resources is a basic function of government. Spooking people out of using their government to manage them is an ancient strategy that broken, wealthy people use to elevate themselves.
Linux is complex and those dependencies were arrived at thoughtfully by people who understand the structure of code and the trade between being very isolated and leveraging what's out there. Vibe coders don't have any idea of the implications of what they produce more often than not.
Don't pretend the option to click a link or show a gif is hard work. That's just client stuff.
Bejeweled profiles are incredibly dumb and easy to reproduce outside the paradigm of "pay to look special" that so many dumb people are falling into.
This work lacks merit. The descriptions of things from the book are not adequately descriptive, because the LLM that wrote the descriptions doesn't understand the drawings. It's mostly prose and little substance.
Cheating AI players used to be the standard. Now they need to be hobbled.
Downvote me if you want but I am dead serious. Attaching profit motives to basic infrastructure is why the USA is a dystopia today. Protocols really are better than platforms. IRC was a better system than discord.
We have been a petri dish for insane megalomaniacs for too long, and now freedom is coming back to bite us, because it gave freedom to the worst imaginable people to oppress the rest of us.
There are not that many dependencies in Rust if you know how to write it. That's just what vibe coders end up with. It's a great language which is overtaken by people with no idea what they're doing that heard it was a great language.
