Since they will support tsa operations, I’m going to assume they will be at the outbound security checkpoints. Both domestic and international.

It’s not you, it’s me.

And no extra charge to have an adjustable stand! How do they make money?

Why take this personally. They are a business. It’s one thing if they did something unethical, but I don’t think this is grudge worthy.

If anything this shows how small the gaming market really is for them. This opens the playing field for new companies to capture.

I find it admirable that they are able to intensify focus on an area they see the most value.

Choose Kaiser if your only other option is a cheap scan VS seek out Kaiser even if it has a premium.

Seem to be opposite enough.

Maybe if we tried to see the underlying point instead, would make it easier to move the discussion forward.

I found the opposite to be true. Kaiser is worth the premium. Doctors and care has been amazing.

You don’t need a sinister device. This is essentially how propaganda works.
Re:How did Soham Parekh get so many jobs? on Saturday July 05, 2025 @03:38PM (#44474992)
Only when all jobs do this at the same time.

There is already evidence that they do in fact contribute to open source. Maybe replace “hope” with “continue to”
Re:GPT 4.5 level for 1% of the price on Sunday March 16, 2025 @11:23AM (#43379747)
Classic. If doing good makes someone feel good, then they must be selfish! And their doing good is in fact not good! /s

Valve supports games on MacOS
Pretty soon you’ll see people bridging audio with llm voice responses to their headset.

I’ve had interviews where people have their friend bridging calls and doing the lookups. Some were incredibly stupid that we heard the typing from the next room lol.

Anyway remote interviews are a nightmare already.

Maybe that's not how society thinks? That's one person's opinion.

Re:How to print your Guild Wars 2 character on Saturday November 30, 2024 @11:14PM (#42286143)
oh wow this looks great and thank you for the guide. Haven't played GW2 in over a decade but I do think about my time playing it every now and then. Made a lot of friends and great memories. Will have to login and see if any of them are still playing. Would be cool to print their characters too.
>Due to the prevalence of forking and copy-pasting within the codebase, nearly 75% of files are completely duplicated.

This is surprisingly high. Does the include imported libraries and packages? Since you are hashing at the file level, I am not fully convinced that this is due to people copying entire files over without modification.

Spectacle for window management. Clipy for clipboard history. Flux for managing color temp.
Re:Sam Altman Is Showing Us Who He Really Is on Tuesday May 21, 2024 @08:33PM (#40436026)
I would put this in the "better to ask for forgiveness than ask than permission" bucket. Which is also a typical mentality in SV.

It reminded me of Berkshire Hathaway. Very old fashioned, run by sensible people, and hold a lot of cash (and very little debt%).

It is interesting because the top 5 oldest companies are Japanese https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_oldest_companies. Their points are still valid even though the country has a different story.
When in doubt, always invert.
This is a very small minority. The vast majority of japan uses a lot single use plastic. Each item being individually wrapped in most cases.
It’s good to nurture some competition in this space. It’ll be good for NASA in the long run if it gets more bidders.
“Just” is an understatement.
Re:Ask HN: What are we even chasing? on Wednesday January 25, 2023 @11:06AM (#34519979)
I view my work life to be a sandbox game. Like Minecraft, you can build w/e and be whoever. In the end it doesn’t really matter.

In my personal life, I do the things I enjoy. Try not to suppress desires, instead be open to the world and let life happen.

IIRC some android devices have facebook pre installed.

GitHub stars/contributions etc are used as a metric for hiring. They might end up with a better billing rate for having code merged into a popular library.

Add another $10-15k per cycle if you want genetic testing.
Absolutely. This behavior is commonly known as “empire building”.
Worth way more. In theory if you’re writing product software, you helped build a money generation machine for the company that can run forever.
Would be incredible if they integrated with 8sleep.
