Having quite a big impact on US economy.
Or: Govt will seize control of Apple ... and destroy it within six month. Throwing technology back by 10-15 years.
30% of my income goes to social security systems, so I have to work 50% to earn the same. I can earn (up to) 50% more from social benefits than from doing actual work, so why work.
I feel powerless, because it's easier this way. I don't have to take responsibility of my life, because "somebody" will do it for me.
Look around you. Every single item you see was given to you by "capitalism".
No, it's not.
"strcat(strcat(strcat(strcpy(buf, "This "),"is "),"a long "),"string.");"
Just checked 20 years of C/C++ repositories ... not a single strcat. Actually I can't remember ever using c-strings for more than args parsing or debug logging.
VS + VA used to be fantastic, today it's just a piece of ... overpriced crap.
But maybe expecting more from $2K+ software (VS) than from FREE software (xcode) is wrong.
The selfmade millionaires under 40 are statistical outliers ;)
(Not strictly "auto"biographies, but most of them have ghostwriters anyway)
"Virgin Rebel" (Richard Branson) "Return to the little Kingdom" (Steve Jobs) "Enter the Dragon" (Theo Paphitis)
(There are lots more, but they are in my bookshelf at home...)
Pro: - Dirt cheap (pay only what you need) - Scales fast and large - Just works
Cons: - Getting swift to run is very hacky
Considering to replace the game backend (scala on ec2) with Swift on Lambda (plus API gateway)
ps: Lambdas do run in containers/instances that get reused ... unless they are idle for too long.
But there is no causality. Not even a correlation.
1) One of our server goes down. 2) My watch tells me about it. 3) I can decide a) Reboot it b) Replace it c) Send a callout to my Ops team.
All in less than 10 seconds ... used to take 10 minutes, including taking out my laptop, checking what's going on, finding out who's on call.
We have a few dozen of these.
I constantly add new stuff to my watch. Ranging from simple apps to complete workflow solutions.
Give me 2 more month and I can replace one of my DevOps with my watch.
Had to beg friends and family for money, but now I'm more stable than anyone else.
You need to step out of the system. Meds and therapy won't cut it.
Afterwards move to finnland. Everybody is depressive here 8 month a year, so your boss will be happy if you curl up for a week instead of killing yourself. (Even if it sounds sarcastic ... it's true!)
And it was insanely stupid. Just turning this thing on could - land you in jail for the rest of your life - get beaten up by all ham operators - make you infertile ... which might be a good thing for the gene pool
We didn't have a single complaint so far. And we have a lot of power users.
Maybe you just attract bad luck.
Not a single glitch in the last 8 month.
Come on, 25 pics + 90 likes per second... that almost like... [wait for it]... nothing.
I'm pretty sure you got your number wrong.
