Re:Russia opposition leader poisoned with Novichok on Wednesday September 02, 2020 @04:09PM (#24357498)
You're failing occams razor. On one hand we have Putin who is very publically Navalny's primary antagonist who also has the means and obvious motive to poison him with Novichuk. On the other some nameless "enemies" who also somehow have the means to build a lab sophisticated enough to produce Novichuk without killing themselves or the people in a large radius of their lab and also access to Mercenaries/Assassins/ex-GRU/Spetsnaz agents with the talent to poison a very high profile person and not be caught?

Why would you think that there is a large number of Pro-Putin Pro-Political Assassination tech workers? This seems like a ridiculous statement.

Who said 100% of all future Supernova detection work will only be done by algorithms?

And that billionaire just happens to have access to a Russian Military Chemical Weapon?
In his tweet I thought he made it clear he wasn't predicting an AI specific slowdown but a universal recession due to Covid?
Probably true of locals of every city in the world but Berlin in particular is still very cheap relative to many western EU cities.

Numbeo cost of living index has it 153rd in the world including rent and it's well below places like Houston which is probably the cheapest large top tier city in the US.

With that advent of MIRVs it makes most of this moot. A single missile could have a dozen warheads and you can blanket target massive areas.
I'm sure they said the same thing about WeWork. Turned out well for the CEO and really no one else.

Anyone want to throw me $1B? I'll just burn it over 20 years but maybe in 2070 I'll make a profit.

Haha no that's so 2012. To buy the $.50 dollar you have to use our app, that also happens to be a high end privacy invasion tool and we'll sell all our user data to the highest bidder!
> there is always going to be someone else further down the road willing to buy into the story.

This doesn't point to a successful value adding business but rather mass market delusion...

Considering much of their work is classified it's incredibly unlikely you are aware of most of their product's successes or failures.
That yet another "Unicorn" is actually just smoke and mirrors, isn't profitable and has no realistic path to ever being so?
Someone invest in my startup. It's genius. I'll sell $1 Bills for $.50, I'll never make a profit but my user growth will be off the charts! Me, my cofounders and any VC stupid/genius enough to invest in us will make millions when we IPO, cash out and go bankrupt all within 5 years!
