Re:How to Be Someone People Love to Talk To (2015) on Monday March 27, 2017 @05:53AM (#13966297)
Of course, when someone tells you his mother died and you smile like an idiot, it surely will not create a positive effect.

The way I understood OP, it seemed as if - in a normal setting - smiling would be frowned upon when talking to people in general in some places... which I find hard to believe.

I'd like to know the culture where smiling is seen differently. It is the global symbol of happiness and tells everybody on earth "i'm a friend" or at least "i'm friendly".

TIL I basically work for free. But then again, I hardly do any work, so it seems to even out in the end.
Re:Confessions of an Instagram Influencer on Friday December 02, 2016 @05:38AM (#13087570)
Since you have obviously figured this whole life-marketing thing out, what am I marketing when I am taking a shit or picking my nose?
Re:A full-featured form software built with love in python on Thursday September 01, 2016 @07:53AM (#12404519)
Describing some project with phrases such as "built with love" or "from the ground up" really make me cringe.
Re:Org-Mode for Writing: Structure and Focus on Tuesday January 19, 2016 @03:15AM (#10929346)
Maybe you could also use the bootstrap labels for TODO states. That would look much nicer.
Not OP, but maybe because he's not using any of the vi stuff? He nowhere said he's using evil or anything. Just emacs.
What did you miss in org-mode that your tool is going to have? I can't think of anything, so I don't really know what benefits your tool provides compared to org-mode.

... like HN in a nutshell.
Re:Astral – Organize Your GitHub Stars with Ease on Friday November 21, 2014 @02:23AM (#8640192)
Using firefox? It's impossible to use, or even just scroll. Works in Chrome though. I suppose it is the star animations at the top of the page that bring firefox to its knees.
Re:My journey into the Berlin startup scene on Monday June 02, 2014 @05:44AM (#7832648)
Actually, he doesn't even write that much about it. Apparently his decision to go to Berlin was made after asking 'his well-traveled friends' what they would suggest.

The rest his him praising himself...

Re:My journey into the Berlin startup scene on Monday June 02, 2014 @04:32AM (#7832452)
Yeah, the author seems to be really full of himself. More than the half of the article is about him and how awesome he is.

All in all, I also even find the article to be very condecending.

Re:Knockout 3.1 ships on Wednesday March 05, 2014 @07:41AM (#7346589)
Can you elaborate on why knockout is old and dated? It's HTML and JS, just like the others.

And compared to the bloat that is angular and especially ember, I find knockout strikes with simplicity and 'keeping-it-simple'.
