You're right, I didn't catch the (For Parts Only) labels when you click into the auctions. It looks like there are some working LTO-7 drive sleds that can be adapted into storage vaults for under $1000, though you're in for another $1000-$2500 for the vault.
Sorry.
Symantec Backup Exec was genuinely one of the worst pieces of software I have ever had to use. Later in life I got to use the IBM Storage Archive setup with much larger tape libraries which still sucked but my god the level of competency difference between the two applications was insane.
You don't need a $25,000 LTO-10 drive, $100,000 library, and $300 tapes. The drives are frequently backwards compatible multiple generations, so your archives are safe. You can get LTO-7, LTO-8, and LTO-9 libraries for cheap (right now there are lots of LTO-7 standalone drives for under $1000 on ebay), as they've aged out of enterprise leases.
They're all going to be a lot less careful than you will ever be.
You are on a message board for people who want to build companies and participate in the capitalist system. You should go back to Reddit if you want a communist circle jerk.
The fact that you’re trying to use capitalist as some sort of pejorative tells me everything I need to know about the real intent of your reply.
Tech job bust (for Americans, anyway) is because of an ethnic cartel who refuses to hire anyone but their own people and is aggressively offshoring back to their home country.
I paid $150 shipped a few months ago then maybe $40-50 for all the parts to run it. The RTX 3060 sells for $400+ in my market and still needs a computer to attach it to!
Conceivably this should also work on the BC250 cards, which are ex-cryptocurrency mining motherboard built around AMD's "Cyan Skillfish" APU which is a cut-down version of the PlayStation 5's custom silicon. You can still pick them up on ebay for $150-$200.
I live in a neighborhood where the same Model Y you can buy at the dealer is driving around by itself with no one behind the wheel. I've already completed your challenge.
It's not a parlor trick no more than a Waymo or Zoox driving around on its own. Your political derangement is clouding your ability to understand what is going on in the world.
No one but Tesla has point to point autonomous driving in a consumer car.
Re:The "$60 Gaming PC" – AMD BC-250 (2025) on Saturday September 05, 2026 @11:37PM (#49583099)
How is it a scam to sell something for more than the cost to make it? Labor and energy are not free you know.
I still think 90% of what made UO unique is the fact there was no Google or central repository of expert knowledge. Yes, UOStratics existed, but it wasn't perfect. A lot of the fun was in the fact basically nobody knew the BEST way to play, and therefore everyone was just doing whatever they thought was fun.
Re:Users fume over Outlook.com email 'carnage' on Wednesday March 04, 2026 @02:19PM (#47252452)
This is an extremely widespread issue. I send close to a million emails per month across dozens of different providers (all newsletters.) These are all from high reputation domains and email accounts. We are completely unable to make anything happen with Microslop. It is infuriating.
Just buy one and remove the SIM card.
Re:Tiny Core Linux: a 23 MB Linux distro with graphical desktop on Saturday December 06, 2025 @10:06AM (#46173858)
This is cool. My first into to a practical application of Linux in the early 2000s was using Damn Small Linux to recover files off of cooked Windows Machines. I looked up the project the other day while reminiscing and thought it would be interesting if someone took a real shot at reviving the spirit of the project.
That's ok, you'll get the same treatment everyone else got before they started this trend. "Normies" with their lives on the standard socials will get extra attention or special treatment at no detriment to you.
There is a lot of dogma in academia too!!
They get paid $300 (may be different these days) if you like in the car. The financial incentive for making you puke is quite high.
Why did you cancel on the Tesla Model Y?
It’s fantastic and Tesla service has been really good for the one issue I had over the last 12 months. My wife bought a Model Y in 2021 so it’s the second Tesla in the house.
I too have FSD 13 on my CT and use it for 99% of driving with no issues. I have done a number of long city to city drives (30-100+ miles) with zero interventions. The roads would be 10,000x safer if every car was using FSD, even in extreme edge cases like the original post.
I like that you've built a strawman for anyone who might disagree with you. "Oh there aren't any positive reviews they're just fanboys." You may as well write "Anyone who disagrees with me is wrong."
Re:Northern California Cities Should Undercut PG&E Now on Saturday February 08, 2025 @03:28PM (#42985906)
What is PG&Es generation cost vs administrative and legal overhead? The 11% margin isn't a good basis number. How is other states like Texas or Colorado are delivering at 10-12c/kwh ?

I do agree with your sentiment that city bureaucrats may be tempted to raid the energy business to pay for pet projects and other things. This can be protected against by segmenting the energy business into its own protected organization.

Re:WordPress Is in Trouble on Monday January 13, 2025 @05:04PM (#42690068)
Pressable includes support, global caching, and a bunch of other things you won't get on a $5/month VPS. Also not everyone wants to play system administrator 7 days a week to keep their server from getting hijacked or nuked.
Yes? There are without exaggeration 1000+ companies offering WordPress hosting. It's a replaceable product. Nothing WPEngine offers is unique or special. WordPress itself is an entire ecosystem.
ACF is very easily replaced. WPEngine is one of a million WordPress hosts. Move your sites to a company that isn't run by PE shitheads.
Re:A Better Light Source for Scanning Color Negative Film on Thursday August 08, 2024 @10:27AM (#41191906)
Drum scanning is crazy time consuming and expensive. I shoot hundreds (sometimes thousands) of film photos per year and 99.999% of my scanning is done with a camera and a backlight.
