Re:Bidirectional Charging During Grid Outages on Monday November 02, 2026 @06:45AM (#50335586)
I managed to go a week off the grid a couple years ago after a cyclone on a 27k~ AUD system that includes a septic system, home servers, starlink and the rest.

The servers obviously had to come down a few nights, but never had to bring down the fridge or anything critical. Didn't even have proper 4/5g service for a few days.

Main issue was the hot water tank which could have in theory been hooked up to my gas via an instant hot water heater for such occasions.

Journalist 2nd, activist first. Also personal attacks are uncalled for.

Why is it that it feels like I’ve read this story like 5 times now over the last year or so?
Re:Friendship ended with Deno, now Node is my best friend on Monday October 05, 2026 @09:08PM (#49972918)
Bun is awesome. It feels great these days to start with bun or convert a nodejs app over and reduce deps down, sometimes to 0.

Ive just gone all in, no more mega bash scripts that constantly bug out on the silliest problems whenever you try to do anything complex involving a list data type.

It just feels like its something you can pretty much always bend towards what you need without needing to breakout into another language and I'm keen to see some of the new performance stuff their continuing to work on.

Re:Australia says OpenAI agent hacked into government website on Thursday September 24, 2026 @02:47AM (#49827088)
Is it robbery when in this case it was a sign with information that you were planning on putting on your front fence for public display but while preparing it was left sitting in the front yard with a small fence.

If I walked past, saw it and remembered it or even recorded it, is that honestly theft?

From everything ive been able to figure out this morning, it sounds like a legacy wordpress website that just uploaded all drafts into a standard s3 bucket that wasn't hard to guess where the files would be.

We still after the 2nd press conference on this by our defense minister are not clear on exactly what happened but thats my best laymen understanding so far.

That’s why I tried making https://wrathbench.shard.page
I don't see how this convinces anyone on the other side that has other evidence that is not being displayed here. Lying through omission used to work before the internet but in the age of social media, a few hand curated fact checks isn't going to shift the needle and probably just makes people more dug in on their positions.
Re:Show HN: Hacker League – Open-Source Rocket League on Linux on Thursday September 05, 2024 @10:31AM (#41457001)
when esports mostly exists as a loss leader to sell video games I don't quite see this vision anytime soon.
Re:Bun 0.3 on Wednesday December 07, 2022 @04:42PM (#33900711)
It actually had developers. It was a political move by the devs against joynet who were refusing to give up full control of nodejs.
Re:Eve Online's most notorious player has quit the game on Friday July 22, 2022 @10:09AM (#32191996)
About time mittens was removed. So much of this was known for years but ignored because of his status outside the world of EVE Online, and thus the absolute position of power he crafted for himself within GSF.
Re:The Crime That Killed Shinzo Abe on Sunday July 10, 2022 @03:38AM (#32042637)
The 3rd I believe. The point of the article is to show Abe's connection to the church through political alliances developed since his grandfather and the Japanese media is at some level seeking to downplay the prevalence of anti-religious extremism.

Since when do we redo elections to see if people changed their minds? Seems like its only when a progressive type of person doesn't get their way under democracy.
Some lost the chance during the lockdown mate

And? The west is currently in the process of dismantling a lot of it's culture to accommodate minorities so I don't see why china gets a free pass for cultural reasons.

You can't help see the right as wrong because you can't even manage to represent their opinions in any kind of fair light.
