What kind of comment is that? You can open your own company and pay as much as you want and create whatever condition you want for the workers.

>The idea that the free market will self-correct and optimize outcomes is a well-documented fantasy.

Could you share some sources to back this up? At least a sources to back up at least a few case studies would be curious. I'm interested in economics and never have been aware that free market self-correction is a well documented fantasy and would love to understand where is your claim coming from.

From the lost of countries and knowing how rampant antisemitism is in these countries I suspect majority of the request are valid and express support and urge for terrorism.
Re:U.S. Pauses All Military Aid to Ukraine on Tuesday March 04, 2025 @06:15PM (#43260770)
Israel is paying for this weapons by its own money.

Re:Zelensky leaves White House after angry meeting on Saturday March 01, 2025 @01:47AM (#43216630)
Tactically nukes are useless BTW, and you give tactical nukes to ukraine in this case.
Re:Zelensky leaves White House after angry meeting on Saturday March 01, 2025 @01:41AM (#43216602)
Russia is more likely to use nukes against US if Russia wins in Ukraine.
Re:Zelensky leaves White House after angry meeting on Saturday March 01, 2025 @01:38AM (#43216582)
Sending money to Ukraine saves US money. The equipment that Russia is losing means the US does not need to maintain as much military as before and fpr the cost of 90B US can permanently save maybe 30% of its mil budget going forward, especially is Russia clearly looses. One more year of support to Ikrain would destroy most of gerund Russian equipment and set it back for years.

Bitcoin physical value is that, one way or the other, billions of humans got atoms in their brains, arrange in such a way that they recognize bitcoins, and have a certain understanding of it's setup... this is a lot of atoms, and is no small fit.
Re:Hezbollah pager explosions kill several people in Lebanon on Tuesday September 17, 2024 @07:58PM (#41574170)
The combatant to civilian casulties in this paper explosion is probably unparalleled in the warfare history. I wish all conflicts would strive to have such a great record.
Re:Creativity fundamentally comes from memorization on Wednesday July 31, 2024 @04:19PM (#41123015)
This is different memories? the one for the formula and the one for the concept. So you can remember the meaning of the word but don't remember how to write it. So can reproduce the formula from your deep understanding, but it is quicker to check it out instead of apply the first principle every time.

Re:Safe Superintelligence Inc. on Thursday June 20, 2024 @02:06AM (#40735449)
How about this possibility: The good guys will be one step ahead, they will have more resources the bad guys will risk imprisonment if they misapply super intelligence. And this will be discovered and protected from by even better super intelligence.
Re:Safe Superintelligence Inc. on Thursday June 20, 2024 @02:03AM (#40735430)
The thing is, the replaced 20% people can always revert to having economy i.e., business among themselves, unless of cause they themselves prefer (cheaper) buissiness with AI. But then this just means they are better off in the first place from this change.

It is a bit like claiming that third world low productivity countries are suffering because there are countries with much much higher productivity. Well, they can continue to do low productivity business but increase it a bit using things like phones developed by high productivity country elsewhere.

Re:Safe Superintelligence Inc. on Thursday June 20, 2024 @01:59AM (#40735395)
To me it is not clear at all, can you please elaborate why you make such a strong claim?
In desired areas land is about 80% of the house price, that's why if you add zoning you obly get exyremely expansive single family houses where you could get cheat multi family high rises
Why?
People buying multiple hones is a blessing - it makes building home cheaper (economy of scale) the problem is obly in the tweasted reality of abosolutly rampant regulation, the only problem is government and local regulation if you artificially restrict supply you don't have enough homes.
You linked some trivial materials, is there anything in there that pertains to the specific claims that Al-jazeera cooperates with terrorist and passed the information from Israel, or that some aljazeera journalists sre actually Hamas memebers?
Re:Jan Leike Resigns from OpenAI on Wednesday May 15, 2024 @04:49PM (#40372197)
You mean freedom is an analigned AI?
Only in the industries, where the government is involved.
Can you expand who is we in you claim? The commissariat of food?
IMHO This is like status. Sounds smart but not much behind it... How do you know what are someone needs, maybe they evlolve? Maybe your need is to try a FAANG job and have first hand expiring that will change your needs to less material. Maybe one of your needs is to satisfy protestant ethics? And your need is to go beyond the first level needs... So I'd say the same way system purposes I'd defined by what it does. Your needs are defined by what your do.

Having said that, this type of philosophizing is nothing but an empty exercise in confusion. Everyone one is an individual an has his one subjective epirience, a person aspires to live his life as he best understands it.. anything beyond that is just nonsensical.

Re:What John von Neumann Did at Los Alamos on Sunday April 07, 2024 @09:42PM (#39965498)
I wonder if writing needs to update the innocence definition. By that measure, it is very easy to claim one.
I served in IDF, and your comment can't be further away from the truth. The fact that you interject it as a matter of truth just speaks for the kind of news diet you are consuming. I personally would apriori doubt any of your claims from this point on.

Re:Large language models lack deep insights or a theory of mind on Thursday November 30, 2023 @02:01PM (#38477583)
Many of the seemingly small problems do require a good model of the world for context and edge case solving, so they still get very close to general intelegence.
