Off-topic question: I've read other comments or articles here recently, where people uses models such as GLM (from Openrouter for example) to perform rev. engineering tasks. On the other hand, I can see offerings for abliterated GLM. Besides, I can see comments in this thread about models like Anthropic's refusing to RE games, but it doesn't happen, apparently, with open weights models, even with official providers. So, what's the difference with this abliterated Chinese models?
What does it mean that a country "needs to die". And why NK needs to die?

Well, at least I could read that about Bolsonaro, that's for sure. Being hardline Trump supporters, Bolsonaros are not very fond of things like being in BRICS or making business with China.

I guess Putin doesn't really care whether you are red or blue, but who do you align with, or who do you oppose.

Re:Lula wins election after final votes tallied on Monday October 26, 2026 @04:38AM (#50240854)
Given that Bolsonaro would reduce engagement with BRICS and de-dollarization, I guess it was Lula the candidate favored by Putin.

May I ask what does Putin win by having part of its army inside Ukraine, spending resources, and also, having Russian cities attacked in response? If you're going to say that it's his way to remain in power, it doesn't look he had trouble doing that prior to the invasion.
Re:DeepSeek just open-sourced its inference engine on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @10:13AM (#50166782)
Exactly. Imagine China's dictator would kidnap some other foreign president just to steal their country's natural resources. Or if he just starts a war against some Middle East country to take the focus away from some pedophile scandal.

Thanks God nothing like that could happen in the US, thanks to its constitution, courts and armed informed citizens. That's why I'm putting all my eggs in that basket.

> They just move the burden of proof and responsibility as needed. 4 ships carrying Ukraine cargo sunk by drones in Bulgarian waters, one of the ships Ukraine owned and the crew full of Ukrainians? No evidence whatsoever on who could have done it so we don’t blame anyone

Well, the official stance of the EU a couple of years ago, when the Nordstream pipeline was attacked, was that it was Russia (even though it was against its interests). So we can have something similar here, right? That it was Ukraine that sunk those vessels. I understand the Bulgarian PM, he's just trying to be a regular EU politician.

> Every device you buy wants you install an app on your phone. Not if I can help it.

That sounds interesting. What's the usual approach, install the app in some emulator or something, and ask your agent to reverse engineer it? Or is the setup for the agent to work simpler than that?

> the US has become irrelevant to Zelensky now

Has it? Intelligence sharing, Starlink usage, etc., doesn't seem irrelevant at all.

The requirement is that they provide some of the information contained in the visitor's id to a police web application. At least, that's how it works here in Spain. But it doesn't mean the hotel needs to take a picture of your id, nor scan it. They just need to transcribe the required information. Yet some would not let you check-in if you refuse to let them scan your id or take pictures of it, that you never know how and for how long will be kept. Of course, you usually don't want to argue after you arrive at some place to make the check-in when the alternative is to sleep on the street.
Who's "we"? Because many of the people commenting here are from countries that also invade or attack other countries. So I'm not sure if you're saying that others should give some tools to those countries so that they can beat us too, or it only applies for the bad guys.

A little off-topic: where does one use those models such as GLM or DS for this kind of reverse engineering tasks? I think I read many of them refuse to help with tasks like those on their official platforms.

Let's be serious. If the US supported Russia in its war against Ukraine, there would be no Ukraine now.

Re:Resources to Get Good at Soldering? on Friday September 04, 2026 @04:14PM (#49569672)
For me, as there are so many "variables" when soldering, the most difficult thing is knowing what's wrong.

For example, you end up with a poor soldering. You try again, and again, but it doesn't get better. Maybe only worse. But what was wrong?

- Was the temperature OK? (And is my iron reporting the real temperature? Should I spend another 300 bucks in a soldering tip thermometer?)

- Maybe the solder I bought is not appropriate?

- Was it the flux? Did I apply it correctly?

- Also, is this tip the best one for the job? Besides, I could have damaged it before when trying to solder and it's not good anymore, although looks good to me

- Or my technique isn't good enough. Am I drag soldering this right? Maybe I should apply heat for longer? But what if I damage the component?

> It's also written in C#

No, Godot is written in C++. You can use C# to code games, as well as GDScript or other languages.

Re:I'm switching my phone from Android to Linux on Thursday August 06, 2026 @05:23AM (#49194417)
In Spain at least you can. I know 4 or 5 banks that let you auth via SMS, coordinates card, etc. If yours doesn't, I suggest that you complain. Some colleagues had to call theirs and insist that the bank's application didn't work on their phones. Reluctantly at first, they eventually changed their method to SMS.

> China has interfered with US elections

Wow. I bet we'll soon be reading on HN that Biden stole the elections back in 2020.

There's not just one war on, there are many. Should Kagi exclude all the results from American companies because of the actions of the US government in Iran?
Then one should ask for Kagi to move to a country that doesn't use taxes to invade other countries, and stop supporting them, instead of just asking to "stop paying money to Russia". Because fixing two wrongs is better than just fixing one, right? And I want to believe that living in the US doesn't make you agree with your country's foreign policy (which doesn't seem to change significantly even with your democratic ability to try to alter it) specially if you're worried about Russia.
What's the point in stopping paying money to Russia if Kagi is incorporated in Palo Alto, so it's paying money and will continue to do so to a country causing no less troubles than Russia?
Who told you Ukraine had the ability to launch the nuclear weapons from the Soviet Union that happened to be deployed to its territory?
Were they theirs? Germany has nukes too but they're not theirs, they're from the US. Germany can't say "fuck off" to the ~50k Americans stationed in the country, leave NATO and get to keep the nukes.
Re:I Moved My Digital Stack to Europe on Wednesday May 13, 2026 @12:10PM (#48123823)
Do you know if it's possible to cap expenses on Scaleway so you don't end up with unexpected charges (due to bandwidth or whatever)? I mean, having your services stopped until the next cycle begins or you decide to pay more. I knew this wasn't possible for Hetzner, for example, but I'm not sure about this one.
Re:Hardware Attestation as Monopoly Enabler on Monday May 11, 2026 @05:01AM (#48092655)
The EU is only making these statements until the US has a new president (with the same ideas of Trump, as has always been the case, but saying nice things in public).

Also, in the mean time, their announced "sovereign solutions for the European citizen" look ridiculous: now you'll be free from Visa and Mastercard for your payments but at the same time you'll need a phone approved by either Apple or Google.

I'd also be a classical liberal if I were getting 1 out of 4 euros of the EU taxpayers.
Re:The Orange Pi 6 Plus on Tuesday April 14, 2026 @06:44PM (#47772424)
I thought N100 equivalent SBC computers like Radxa's, etc., were largely out of stock for quite some time now.
Well, that depends on which reality you're referring to, of course.
Not sure if you're talking about Iran or the US now
Are they still counting now? Because they may be mistaking them for the victims of the US and Israel, which are killing civilians by the thousands too.
