nit²: 2.2x as fast, or 2.2 times the speed; not 2.2x faster. same issue you pointed out.

using faster with x/times is just begging for misunderstandings

Ah, yeah, the voice samples on the page are much better than the one in the video.

if it only affected the company itself rather than ~the entire world, there may be face to be saved. trusted authorities have to be held to a MUCH higher standard, for good reason.

no grace if you use 4 as the private key for a trusted authority.

Yeah, the german is also hilariously bad if it's supposed to sound native.

probably for touch screens, like all the oversized, over-padded ui everywhere

yup, it should be renamed to "I Love GL_NEAREST_MIPMAP_NEAREST"

hidden gems?

What did you expect?

Re:The Road to MS-DOS 2.0 on Tuesday August 18, 2026 @08:56AM (#49344948)
no, Windows still leaves that to the program. Usually handled by the msvc runtime for argv/argc, but the base windows API is GetCommandLine, giving you a single string.

What's the point you're trying to make?
why not "just" do it for them?
Re:Tail-Call Interpreters in Rust – Jimmy Ostler on Monday August 10, 2026 @11:27AM (#49244969)
on my screen it's the opposite: the glow makes it look like i didn't clean my glasses for a month, disabling that `text-shadow` makes it readable, and the slight scanline effect is nice

near lossless refers to being 89.65/90.26 = 99.32% of baseline, i'm pretty sure.
just look at that giant 8-line headline, insanity
then add a second r and it's suddenly piracy or torrent related!

yeah, this will inevitably break things. excluding those from the directory stripping shouldn't be too hard (TM)

Re:Your hex editor should color-code bytes on Thursday April 23, 2026 @10:13AM (#47875998)
as far as i can tell, no it does not. it only desaturates 00 in particular. the other colors you see in the screenshots come from matched formats/patterns. it does not do direct coloring based on byte value.

Re:Windows Notepad App Remote Code Execution Vulnerability on Wednesday February 11, 2026 @04:02AM (#46972596)
you can also just uninstall the "new" notepad, at which point Windows will let you run the old one again (which is still shipped!).

By using a version that is _that_ old you do lose out on some of the actually useful updates legacy nodepad received, such as LF line ending support.

You are mistaken:

TIL I'm an AI
not even opposite, as mentioned in my comment it does have Initiator Mode, allowing it to act as a host
If the reason to connect them is to dump them, something like https://bluescsi.com/ in Initiator Mode might work: https://bluescsi.com/docs/Initiator-Mode
