I agree, since that move I've migrated everything I had running on Ubuntu to Debian, with the exception of my big blue button VPS whose installation script is really tied to it.
Looks like I'm a bit out of date, but older generations of LTO drives were able to read tapes from up to two generations ago, and write tapes from one generation back. Looks like this isn't the case since LTO-8. It looks for 8 and 9 theycan read and write to tapes back one generation. 10 breaks the pattern and can only read LTO-10 tapes.

I'd never buy one of their TVs or fridges (given the whole shoving ads into everything, probably nothing of theirs with a screen), but we did have a great experience with one of their washer and dryers. The dryer lasted us seven years, and we replaced the washer at the same time though it still worked. It's lifetime included our child's cloth diapers phase, they saw some heavy use.
They were plain dumb devices.
This. I have an OpenStack homelab and a fast home internet connection. I update things pretty much daily, apply best practices, etc. And despite that outside of a wire guard instance i still host public things on a pair of VPSes, security just moves too fast to risk the home network (important things are backed up remotely and all that). I try to update the VPSes daily. Haven't gotten popped yet (to my knowledge!), but I am sure it'll happen eventually.
Oh yeah, I understood your point, but given MDY Industries, LLC v .Blizzard who knows what the "right" judge would rule? With IP laws these days we're really getting into weird places.
I can't remember the court case, but Blizzard did argue and win in court that WoW Glider's producers violated copyright law. If I recall correctly violating the TOS meant that an unauthorized copy made by executing the file chasing it to load WoW into RAM was created.
Someone needs to make a download more VRAM site.
He's got an open one :) Just has to finish his trip to Japan and then his visit to our aunt. He'll get here when he can :)
My brother is the fun uncle of my daughter. Know the fun uncle is always appreciated. You should visit them soon :) And tell my brother to get back here for his overdue visit.
I'm a house-husband to a wife with a womb who birthed our daughter. She's a software dev at a major software company. I did most of the diapers (little one is soon 7 and out of them for a while now), I do all the cooking. We had daycare partially to give breaks, but also so the little one would get good social exposure at a young age. I sadly can't drive due to a mix of anxiety and sedating medication for other health stuff, so she does before-school appointments most of the time (so she can go to the office after without me having to bus home), but for the most part I come along with appointments and I'm the one to go along on school trips and do the before and after school bus times. I do almost all the away playdates, with playdates at home being a joint endeavor.
Her carefree living has gone, but she can still go to work parties while I stay home and look after our daughter. She's never told me she experienced any overt judgement about being the sole breadwinner (there was a male manager who asked her after mat leave how her vacation was. I wonder how much he was involved in the early years of raising his kids‽). I will admit I do get more praise than I should be for doing my role, but really that praise is pretty empty, the bar is so low for men. The praise I do get mainly comes from women older than us. I've only once gotten a "Mr. Mom" comment and that was from an older American acquaintance.
She took about 4 months off if I recall correctly for mat leave after our daughter was born. She was going crazy at home.
She has some limitations for sure, she feels like she's as far as she'll get at least while our daughter is young, in terms of the promo-game. But she and the company are content with where she's at, though she is a bit envious at times about how some of her colleagues have been promoted to higher levels despite starting at the same time or after her.
She's very involved and a great mom.
I hope that didn't come off as a brag (I'm terrible at keeping the place clean and tidy, we hire help for that), my point is that you probably can have a high-impact career, be sexually attracted to men, and have a womb, and have a child. The freedom and care-free living will go regardless of one's gender, that's just part of being a good parent. There are plenty of men out there up for a majority parenting role.
For some context I'm around 40, and in my age group there's a lot more involved fathers (we see lone fathers with children at the park all the time, including with solely presenting-female children) and working mothers than when I was a child. Living in a major city in Ontario, Canada.
For Hitler? He won the most seats of all the parties in the Reichstag in 1932 with 37 or so percent of the vote. That majority would normally have gotten him appointed as Chancellor (by tradition).
He used violence and backroom dealing to get from that majority to become Führer, but without a doubt Hitler did get his foot into the door democratically.
If they said "pipes" network admins probably would have given it a pass.
But there's no feeling of power with giving everyone bread. Billionaires seem to have more than just an addiction to big numbers, maybe seem to want to rule over others.
As a house spouse I want this! I _hate_ folding laundry and always procrastinate on it. Doesn't even need to be able to load the machine like they additionally show, "just" folding it is enough for me!
I hope he was able to get a paybump each switch!
This is the correct answer, always single mode. It's been the most future proof to date, people just keep figuring out how to cram more and more wavelengths into it.
Good to know! Not sure why I am so often shy on getting used. I've done it when the deals are simply very good, but that's just been with referb harddrives (with a warranty) and this switch, which was just too good of a deal. I gotta get braver there.
The modules/transceivers are unlocked there, but the switch ports may not be. Mikrotik doesn't vendor lock their ports, but the bigger manufacturers do. Some places sell transceiver programmers, but those are locked to their own modules (I think that may be due to a technical limitation). So fs.com's modules can be reprogrammed with FS.com's fiber box thing, and ubiquiti's modules can be reprogrammed with their Ubiquiti Fiber Wizard (I think that's the name of it?).
My switch has vendor locked ports, and there's a console command to disable the lock, but I'd have to beg the manufacturer for an unlock key (it's based on the switch's serial I believe) for a key, and it's a used switch, and they are not a fan of people using their OS on used switches since their license entitlements are non-transferable. So it's FS for me, and if my next used switch is a different brand I'll have to shell out for their reprogrammer.
Wiitek is a brand with the lower wattage ones that run around 60°C, not sure if they are on AliExpress, but they are on amazon.ca and worked perfectly in my Mikrotik. To OP and other readers, if getting into switches with transceivers be aware that many enterprise networking gear vendors vendor lock their ports and transceivers. That was an expensive lesson for me. There are third parties selling off-brand transceivers for a lot cheaper than the branded ones (fs.com is probably the biggest and best known). This can get complicated if you have different manufacturers and need different coded transceivers or even DACs with different "brands" on each end.
Nice score on the used switch! I used a 10GbE Mikrotik up until recently until it started having hardware failures (my second one, a few years older is running perfectly, been very happy with it). I got exceptionally lucky finding a used 64 port 40/100Gbps enterprise switch on ebay for $1000CAD (same switch here normally goes for $3-4k CAD used). Most of my ceph cluster is limited to 10Gbps (onboard RJ45 for 4/5 nodes, and the PCI-E slot on each is taken by NVMe drives), but I feel I'm already outgrowing that speed, my few nodes already saturate 10Gbps - NVMe drives are fast! Now I just gotta wait for 100GbE NICs to come down in price, I'm not sure I'm ready to buy a used NIC yet (was nervous about the switch, first used piece of network gear for me), but the knock off Intels are like $350 minimum here for a 2 port.
The repair ability is why I went with a Framework. My last two laptops had keyboards that lasted until a few months after the warranty. Rest of the laptop works, but I can't find replacement keyboards at a reasonable price. So a framework, and I bought a spare keyboard upfront on the off chance they go bankrupt.
Sounds a lot like dokuwiki.
It's not true, it's false.
