every line of code you write converts ~1 nanogram of testosterone to estrogen. you must learn to control your time in the machine or your time in the machine will control you.

what's this website supposed to be? it's a bunch of letters or something? I don't like sans. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere.

you have to spend money to make money
Re:42 is found to be the sum of three cubes on Friday September 06, 2019 @11:01AM (#20896247)
i would show you the proof but it's arbitrary because it only works against the "sum of cubes" encryption system, which only i use.
this is why 7-character password requirements are important

If you can break up a reasonably-sized table (perhaps 120 or so) of numbers into their respective sums of cubes, breaking many types of encryption is arbitrary.

33 and 42 are well known as some of the most important numbers in all of mathematics, transcending multiple fields.

I think it depends on how you compile it i think. for example, you can use SDL or something with an emscripten compiler flag [1]. but i am not super sure how that works without canvas, i haven't tried it with normal sdl

web assembly is not necessarily just for the browser though. you can have webassembly without any web[2], just to run binaries across different platforms. i think it's pretty cool

>You're arguing against the laws of physics here and you're arguing that stupid users should be able to screw everybody else. No thanks.

i think there is a misunderstanding here. he's not arguing that ISPs shouldn' be able to bandwidth-discriminate based on customer. He's arguing that they shouldn't be able to discriminate on the type of data. what would it matter to the other users if they were slowing down the network by html5 video, VNC, or playing a game over TCP?

I don't know a lot about networks, but i think a potential solution could be to discriminate between high-bandwidth and low-latency transmissions. For a video game or something you would want to have low latency, but you wouldn't need a lot of bandwidth. on the other hand, video streaming requires a lot of bandwidth but doesn't depend so much on latency as long as it has a big enough cache. images are probably somewhere in the middle. this would allow low-bandwidth applications to be prioritized.

1. societies before us have seen the consequences of nepotism and corruption.

2. it is critical to remove subconscious bias in the hiring process.

3. the only effective means to do so as a society is to handicap those who take advantage of subconscious biases.

marketing in itself is less than a zero-sum game; it's players are parasites on the working class. we should all do our part to reduce it's effects.

i think the obvious solution would be to have the light in series with the power to the camera, so that in order for the camera to be on, the light will also have to be on

do you think that, in general, medication is successful in improving the agency of it's users?

i worry that medication harbors a reliance on drugs, and facilitates growth of a society in which drug-use is necessary to participate "normally".

if someone with ADD/ADHD has an opportunity to increase their agency, do you think that would increase their quality of life? the parent commenter suggested that mental illness (in the case of depression) might be the result of someone with healthy brain chemistry in a bad environment. but do you think that someone with healthy brain chemistry can demonstrate an attention disorder as a result of their environment, and would be more able to improve their environment through medication?
