Economically, people will not buy a car that sacrifices them in favour of others.

They literally tweeted that their goal was to fuck her over.
Re:CIA vs. Wikileaks [video] on Wednesday December 30, 2020 @03:41AM (#25579840)
They were very open about their desired outcomes alongside their releases. They had the express goal of affecting the election, as expressed by their site and their twitter.
Re:CIA vs. Wikileaks [video] on Wednesday December 30, 2020 @03:39AM (#25579828)
That looks more like Wikileaks cares about who it is damaging to.
Re:CIA vs. Wikileaks [video] on Wednesday December 30, 2020 @03:38AM (#25579821)
They obviously don't treat all leaks as equal. Just look at the official wikileaks twitter to see their bias.
Re:CIA vs. Wikileaks [video] on Wednesday December 30, 2020 @03:37AM (#25579809)
Pretty sure Wikileaks has been a front for the FSB for a while now. All the ideological people were pushed out a long time ago. They're not the release everything group that everyone wanted them to be.
Re:Yes, the KFConsole Is Real and It's Spectacular on Friday December 25, 2020 @12:37AM (#25534466)
Are you kidding? The gaming public are hungry for this.

If all they say is "competitive" then they're refusing to compete on salary.
Just like you do with dice.
Re:On the Graying of Gnome on Monday December 21, 2020 @12:12AM (#25492303)
Gnome 3 was when they started taking over keybinds from common software on linux, so you had to hunt down the 3 or 4 places where they were configured to unbind them back for the user.

Gnome just works? Gnome just breaks other things.

Because UKIP is a larger organisation

They're the same picture.

Goodreads is complete garbage, they can't even sort a list of ratings properly.
Re:Chinese authorities detain Bloomberg News staff member on Saturday December 12, 2020 @06:18PM (#25402730)
Why do people insist on calling Assange a journalist? He was never anything of the sort.

"How dare they have the freedom to what speech they can transmit."
Re:Rudy Giuliani got monoclonal antibodies. You probably can’t on Saturday December 12, 2020 @01:07AM (#25396003)
It's a shame - there very people who should see the consequences are the same who won't.

America has long ceased to be a meritocracy.

Re:The YouTube ban is un-American, wrong, and will backfire on Saturday December 12, 2020 @01:05AM (#25395994)
The real problem here is that YouTube is a monopoly and needs to be anti-trusted down to allow competition.
Re:The YouTube ban is un-American, wrong, and will backfire on Saturday December 12, 2020 @01:03AM (#25395985)
It is not contradictory to be intolerant of the intolerant. To allow free speech for those who call for such repugnant lies is to tacitly accept them.

Likewise, no government should allow for parties that would destroy itself - yet here America is, falling apart.

Anti-trust suits when?
Re:Ask HN: What's the best paper you've read in 2020? on Wednesday December 09, 2020 @12:52AM (#25355754)
Yeah they're a real P-NAS.
If that's what you think, then enjoy reading the many thousands of papers published by shitty paper mill operations.
> Local residents always complain about everything.

Only true because the UK has a horribly regressive stance on renters rights.

How did you get to this site without some basic understanding of wireless technology?

That's not how monarchy or feudalism worked.
Re:In-Database Machine Learning [pdf] on Thursday December 03, 2020 @08:30AM (#25288603)
I've had in-database machine learning, and I'll always pick a stupid datastore over a "smart one" that comes with a fixed set of tools.

Because eventually the smart datastore is just an unperformant dumb one.

Re:US agency investigating Tesla front suspension failures on Friday November 27, 2020 @05:17PM (#25233051)
Perhaps, I think they just haven't had the years on their cars to have that sort of reliability. They're definitely overvalued, but they're overvalued because of investor madness that isn't going away soon.
Sounds like 10 minutes to setup some automation to win big bucks.
First the crappy ranking system, now a bad metric?

For a place that did excellent productivity studies, they sure are hellbent on inflicting horrible policy on their workers.
