Lol what are you talking about?

If you have something to eat and a working pc and stable internet connection you can make the way. That's a hard lessons learnt in startup years. It's the same

I started playing piano in 2018 and now it's part of my daily routine. I would recommend this to folks how are looking where to invest time to. Mastering an instrument takes years, but it's progress and dopamine.

Re:YC offers early interviews for AI companies on Saturday July 15, 2023 @03:27PM (#36740131)
I'm curious whether AI aligns with startups. IMHO it does not well. It aligns with academia where time flow differently. Business then takes what an academia produces -- i.e. papers / methods / algorithms and implements it to generate value for customers. It doesn't align with startups as well in case if you have a method and require a lot of compute to produce a model. I'm really curious whether there is any opportunity left for YC-sized startups in AI.

I lot of really cool developments happen on github -- but again that's open source, not venture to generate money.

it's all forked
Re:I’ve been single all my life on Wednesday April 12, 2023 @06:27PM (#35547914)
I have experienced a major schizophrenia for 5 years starting in 2015 and since that I never attempted dating or having interpersonal relationships. Now it's a part of my personality.

I won't go in detail though. I don't feel any negative emotions or have any thoughts about that as I'm using antidepressants to shut down the libido.

After some biohacking I feel a competitive advantage in social realm and view this as a gift. There's non-compete for women, no social racing for status, and it all boils down to fundamental values. That's super christian catholic way of life, and I'm fine with it now.

What I was expecting initially is that someone will check on me, but that never happened.

Re:I’ve been single all my life on Wednesday April 12, 2023 @04:37PM (#35546469)
There is something fundamentally wrong with this world, obviously. I'm standing the same stance for lat 8 years.

Neural differential equations are also easier with jax. sim2real may be easier with simulator where some of hard computations are replaced with neural approximations
Re:4000x Speedup in Reinforcement Learning with Jax on Thursday April 06, 2023 @06:27PM (#35475377)
Not only vectorization, but the plethora of environments written in jax. Hopefully someone will port MuJoCo to jax soon

We are about to get nuked. Only this time nuke is AI that remove any meaning from our so-called high life. I'm thinking moving to Hydarabad to fry samosas. Fortunately won't be automated.
That way another dimension when cold war was a real thing. Things changed and I'm talking recent developments. They are military focused and I hope no one here support war. If you plan joining Northrop Gruman or Lockheed to build autonomous weaponry that will be used to murder civilians I guess there are other places that welcome bullies.
Exactly, and it has something to do with Ken Kesey. Learn about what they did to Aaron, and you will see the parallels
Stay away from MIT courses including all meta characters such as Friedman, Minsky and others. They collaborate with military and law enforcement and subvert the open science paradigm. They have blood on their hands and history of silencing and oppressing dissidents such as Aaron Schwartz. In this case politics is involved and those of us acknowledge the open science agenda should filter out all MIT forged content.

Re:Ask HN: Is anyone else getting AI fatigue? on Thursday February 09, 2023 @07:34AM (#34723039)
There's much more than LLMs -- RL, Robotics and graphs. AI hasn't reached mainstream gamedev yet, and general adoption among devs is low. I find it hard to convince my fellow devs from old time (web, startups) to invest their time to learn AI.
