It seems that it's you who needs more education on the topic.

What if the small minority is being oppressed and killed? There are so many reasons why a small minority might need to protest within a democracy. "This seems anti democratic" is a bizarre take.

That's weird, I never had to do that. Android and firefox web.

They can search contents. You have to activate local indexing in the search UI itself.

Completely disagree, don't know of anyone who'd share that opinion.

That's something.

Fully agree.

People call "bloat" the features they don't need, and "deal breakers" the lack of features they want besides good text editing.

Re:Google Opal on Wednesday December 31, 2025 @06:26AM (#46443263)
You call all these products launches from google "internal innovation competitions"?

And even if they were, which they aren't, are you sure it's a "common business practice"? How many companies can afford that.

Not on mobile.

How would tables solve the issue they're talking about?
Re:The Problem of Teaching Physics in Latin America on Monday December 15, 2025 @05:57AM (#46272848)
You're replying in good faith to someone who ignored the main point of GP (an empire actively disrupting a region) and just said "every place has been unstable" (without even taking century-level timescales into consideration).
I disagree, people are just happy to see coca cola fail, which's fair enough.

The ad company that made this supermarket's piece capitalised on that, and now we have ... an ad on the front page, with people commenting on its storytelling.

Celebrating an advertisement video is absolutely bizarre.

Re:A New Bridge Links the Math of Infinity to Computer Science on Wednesday November 26, 2025 @03:56AM (#46055532)
If something people dedicated multiple years of their lives studying and proving seems trivial to you, you're either a genius or you didn't understand the problem.

I'd like to see that comparison tracking the number of devs and how much open source software each company uses.

Very few countries in Europe have that issue, and afaik no country in the americas.
Re:Tauri binding for Python through Pyo3 on Monday October 13, 2025 @08:55AM (#45567832)
The bundle size is, by definition, much smaller as it doesn't include the browser engine.
Re:Tauri binding for Python through Pyo3 on Monday October 13, 2025 @08:51AM (#45567792)
This benefits people and teams who prefer to build UIs with html/js/CSS.
Re:Imgur pulls out of UK as data watchdog threatens fine on Friday October 03, 2025 @03:54AM (#45460243)
That's not the point I was trying to make. You believe that almost all people who have issue with the law do so because of porn addiction. You haven't shown any data, it's just your belief, from which you're informing and repeating your world view as fact.
Re:Imgur pulls out of UK as data watchdog threatens fine on Wednesday October 01, 2025 @11:08PM (#45445988)
It's hard to keep this conversation in good faith if you're just gonna throw in some statistic you just made up.

I meant to say more than validation, something like this feature set:

https://www.react-hook-form.com

React Hook Form is beastly.

I remember seeing Mint quite a few years ago. I love the idea, I really like the language design, but I agree 100% with your take on the drawback. It's hard to sell that to teams.

What's surprising to me is how many alternatives exist in this space. Between elm, imba, svelte, and mint, and probably more that I don't know about, I wonder how many devs in the world are shipping to prod using them.

edit: have you thought about including Form Validation to the core lib?

I'm definitely not the authority on the definition of that word, but in my view I expect reactivity to mean that the UI reacts to state changes "automatically".
Reading through the example, it seems like it doesn't do reactivity, as the user code must call render() manually on state changes. Did I miss something?
Re:Microsoft is officially sending employees back to the office on Wednesday September 10, 2025 @08:43AM (#45196823)
Hybrid is ok if the WFH days are set for everyone, otherwise I agree it's a waste of time, since people are randomly in the office.
Re:Microsoft is officially sending employees back to the office on Wednesday September 10, 2025 @08:35AM (#45196723)
I disagree completely with that, at least for software engineers.

The work queue is infinite, measuring output with any sort of precision is almost impossible for a lot of the work (maintenance, actually necessary refactors, security, mentoring juniors, managing stakeholders, etc etc etc). There's no "I've finished my work for today".

I'm not saying that I like it, or that it's a good thing, but in my understanding engineers are paid to be available doing work roughly 40h/week.

Fully agreed with your examples. As a rule of thumb macros should be kept inside libraries, not application code.
