Re:MicroZig to Adopt Strict No LLM / No AI Policy on Thursday October 29, 2026 @08:17PM (#50298198)
Because they're in denial and it's mildly amusing. Like the Amish, but if it was just a silly preference instead of a religion.
Re:Patrick Stewart has died on Thursday October 29, 2026 @08:16PM (#50298187)
I think maybe 5 total episodes meet that description.
Re:Patrick Stewart has died on Thursday October 29, 2026 @04:24PM (#50295339)
Roddenberry had much less to do with TNG, which is why it's better.
Re:MicroZig to Adopt Strict No LLM / No AI Policy on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @10:18PM (#50283792)
This is a clever rule. It will not be an obstacle for people who are capable of creating higher quality output using LLMs.
Re:Railway Security Disclosure on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @10:51PM (#50190573)
Aw shit. I just got done patching our PHP servers, now I gotta do the Railway too? I swear I'm gonna wake up to a Vercel SNAFU.
Re:Tesla Roadster on Saturday October 17, 2026 @09:44AM (#50131128)
The Ioniq 5 N is really good too. Track mode is such a great tool on the 3 that it gives it a clear edge.

I own a v8 (4.6 modular, baby), and it's lovely. Different driving experience, much less performance. I don't want an EV that's trying to compete with that experience, I want a machine that's honest about what it is.

I don't care how my car looks. I spend the money on performance. Bang for buck, the performance model 3 is maximum smiles per hour.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @01:48AM (#50114553)
Maybe if you don't like driving? It's really a solid car. Much better than the WRX, which is quite good. Make sure you set steering to low assist. The performance models in general are serious machines. Top of class in their price range by a long shot.
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @01:02AM (#50114288)
The 3 handles quite nicely, I'd compare the performance model favorably to any BMW M3.
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @12:59AM (#50114276)
So many things you just said are wrong. The control arms are 100k mile parts, and you can easily replace them with Unplugged Performance versions for under $1k.
That's not an accurate characterization of what happened, and I think you know that.
Ugh. My first job was rewriting foxpro. Bad memories.
Re:Ask HN: What default model do you use and why? on Saturday September 12, 2026 @11:50AM (#49673582)
Gemini is the least stupid/most neurotypical model family IMHO. Works great for me

100% business gun.
Always nice to know how someone really feels about a country that has made them very rich.
Re:Stripe Clinches over $7B Deal to Buy AI Firm OpenRouter on Sunday August 16, 2026 @09:19PM (#49325562)
I'm friends with a payment docs writer. Holy crap are payments complicated.
Re:Stripe Clinches over $7B Deal to Buy AI Firm OpenRouter on Sunday August 16, 2026 @08:16PM (#49325176)
Yes, Stripe is extremely good at what they do. Payments are complicated.
Crown and Red Bull (tastes better) is my order if I want to drink and dance.
Re:The Deadly Rise of Giant Trucks and S.U.V.s on Tuesday June 23, 2026 @03:26PM (#48650073)
Blah. It's a regulation problem. Allow powerful trucks to be small again and they will. Perverse incentives are a bitch.
That's not intelligent of you. Being partisan doesn't mean you're stupid or wrong.
Re:We Think the SpaceX IPO Is Overvalued on Tuesday June 09, 2026 @06:20PM (#48468606)
Doesn't really matter. Elon just has a good track record of delivering value for investors, and will move mountains to make it happen.
Re:We Think the SpaceX IPO Is Overvalued on Monday June 08, 2026 @10:44PM (#48455611)
I'm generally going to avoid betting against Elon.
Re:Project Hail Mary – Stellar Navigation Chart on Thursday May 21, 2026 @11:16PM (#48231566)
Fantasizing about saving the universe is a good thing, actually.
Re:Project Hail Mary – Stellar Navigation Chart on Thursday May 21, 2026 @06:04PM (#48229393)
Star Trek (TNG onwards) gets this right.
Re:Project Hail Mary – Stellar Navigation Chart on Thursday May 21, 2026 @01:51PM (#48226536)
White people doing anything good is actually bad. Duh.

/s, but I think I'm accurately describing the viewpoint you're responding to.

Re:Starship's Twelfth Flight Test on Wednesday May 20, 2026 @07:38PM (#48215866)
Historically, that has been true about rockets.
Re:Starship's Twelfth Flight Test on Wednesday May 20, 2026 @06:58PM (#48215465)
Have you met hardware guys? This is not how they operate, in my experience.
Sounds incredibly simple to me. One-shot.
You can absolutely avoid glyphosate in your diet. This is obviously some sort of emotional issue for you.
Call it (pun intended) a smell test. I have cited a study that shows biomarkers of gut inflammation strongly correlated with glyphosate exposure. Perhaps you should have read it.

I have raised a flag. Lowering your exposure to a novel chemical agent that directly impacts a massive and poorly-understood symbiotic system within the body isn't a bad response. Glyphosate exposure certainly isn't beneficial, so I'll treat it like Pascal's wager: avoiding this has more upside than downside.

Can you attack the methodology or data instead of the author?
