I guess like all AI subscriptions there's some sort of subsidization and the rate limits make it hard to use all of the supposed dollar usage across all the models, for instance using Gemini Argon 4 on High for a few sessions supposedly used $26 of my $60 usage and burned up my weekly request limit already.

As a Go subscriber, from my understanding the $10 is what you pay monthly, but you can use up to a certain set dollar amount of tokens supposedly at cost but that usage comes with different sets of rate limits so you can't rip through the whole thing in a matter of hours.
Yow, $70 a month is rather harsh. Honestly I'd rather just stick to Signal and avoid traditional calling/SMS and use HTTPS for everything over mobile data instead.

Quite frankly, Meta's models have been so impressive (and cheap) that I haven't used an OpenAI or Claude model except for one-off tasks as of late. Interested to see where they go from here.
Re:NYC's "Click to Cancel" rule is now in effect on Sunday October 11, 2026 @03:35PM (#50046973)
There's a big blue button on the homepage that says "File a complaint" - I presume that goes through the web.
Re:My personal AI agent posted my bank details on company Slack on Saturday October 10, 2026 @12:25PM (#50034432)
And here I was thinking I was being slightly too paranoid when running plain old AI coding agents in their own VM with no credentials in it...
Telegram and security don't really belong in the same sentence anyways. Say what you will about Signal but they at least have better cryptography and more transparency about what software they're running.
Re:Bitwarden Dual License Model on Saturday October 10, 2026 @12:22PM (#50034394)
Licensing changes aside, this is why I've never been enthused for hosted password management, it's too easy for the terms of the agreement to change. (And in the case of LastPass, endless breaches). Honestly, plain KeePassXC and an arrangement to sync the password database has served me well because I can use any compatible client I can trust with it.
Well, according to Artificial Analysis (which I'll admit I've been using as a bit of a mental crutch to avoid comparing models myself, so YMMV), it's smarter and slightly cheaper than Gemini 3.8 Flash, which has been my benchline for "cheap and smart enough", I'll give it a try on OpenCode for the week but I'm not sure I'll be compelled enough to switch from Muse Spark 1.3.
It's got the kind of UI that I would love pre-2024 or so but these days it just screams "AI generic" unfortunately. Documentation is fairy concise and reasonably LLM-jargon free though.
Re:The Gemini Agent on Thursday October 08, 2026 @05:31PM (#50012610)
I have to give Google credit, they're calling (most of) their workspace AI features Gemini or Gemini in X and yet when compared to Microsoft calling everything Copilot I don't actually hate it somehow.

Might be the most tasteful ad I've seen in a hot minute, not bad at all.
Honestly for me the intelligence gap between DS 4.1 Flash and Muse Spark 1.3 makes Muse more worth it for me, especially on a $10 OpenCode Go sub, with the caveat that everything I use it on is open source which makes the fact that I'm sharing it with Meta a little moot because it's already published permissively on GitHub anyways.

I'd classify it as "source-available" given the noncommercial clause in the license.
