you needed more exclamation marks :)
Would be ok, except for the fact that I like to run GUI applications on linux as well. Remote access for gui is a pain.
Re:Python 3.15.0 on Friday October 09, 2026 @01:54PM (#50024269)
makes sense (and I somehow missed `mcpyrate` when I scanned the ecosystem for macro packages).

I ended up writing a custom package that expands on the one "macro" (really a small DSL) that does it very quickly, and uses the `.pth` import so it automatically loads, via entrypoint especially, rather than being a constant import in the files that uses the DSL.

`mcpyrate` looks very cool.

Re:Python 3.15.0 on Friday October 09, 2026 @01:12PM (#50023591)
Hmm I see https://peps.python.org/pep-0829/ is now merged in. I understand why it's necessary, but I was doing some cool things with codecs installing "macros" with `.pth` imports.
How does this choose which models to use with any arbitrary set of model providers to work from? And why is an openrouter necessary for self-hosting?
Funny enough, I saw some tweet earlier today about their company trying to get past the legal hurdles with getting figma mcp to work and ended up bluntly giving up. Wonder if this is related.
Re:How to speed up the Rust compiler in September 2026 on Thursday October 01, 2026 @11:57AM (#49923401)
I tend to disregard anyone who complains about foundational open source being funded like this. As long as the donor doesn't have dictatorial control over the product, why obsess over this?
Re:You Are No Longer Invited to Dinner on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @04:11PM (#49899654)
> You meet a lot of weird people in software

That's not a software-engineer attribute. I live in another major software hub on the east coast and people are not like this over here.

We're not prepared to say exactly why they are weird.

I'm using fakecloud and it's dead simple to use. (like you said, aws only)
Re:Claude is no longer available for minors on Friday September 11, 2026 @11:43AM (#49660335)
Unfortunately we live in a litigious society. The more you observe, you'll see that companies and government make decisions to reduce culpability and offload risk.
Re:I resigned from Anthropic today on Wednesday September 09, 2026 @09:08AM (#49625940)
Trust me, only people who were unable to do it in the first place will substitute basic human skills with AI output. They never developed it in the first place.
Re:Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1 on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @02:44PM (#49526213)
Same... I think this timing aligns with a reset they gave months ago.
Re:Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1 on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @02:40PM (#49526158)
That feels bad, my weekly limit was going to reset today. (I wonder if mostly everyone's reset day is today as well...)
Re:The creator of Jujutsu has joined ERSC on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @02:33PM (#49526040)
I might be mistaken, but I always figured the end goal for jujitsu was to use its own backend. Supporting git-colocation seems like a compatibility case to bring users over.

If I had to guess, then I would say ERSC is trying to build a `jj` forge based on this new hire and that would be amazing imo.

Re:GUIs should be fully keyboard-driven on Saturday August 29, 2026 @10:06AM (#49490010)
It's interesting because now we're in the era where click-supported TUIs are gaining market share. Will we now see keyboard-driven TUIs fall out of support now because click-support is easier?
Claude is creating verbose comments with recent models and people are are tired of it
Re:Malicious Rust crate Arrayref runs a build-time payload on Thursday August 20, 2026 @12:05PM (#49376514)
There's a reasonable solution to this. Tools like `cargo-audit` can tell you if a crate has security issues and guide you towards an update. You don't have to blindly update all dependencies this way.
Re:Malicious Rust crate Arrayref runs a build-time payload on Thursday August 20, 2026 @11:58AM (#49376429)
which, as painful as it may be, is ok. Better to have a safe functional stdlib library than a exposed external crate (which then asks the question; what's the replacement...)
Re:fx :Tiny, open, native coding agent. on Wednesday August 19, 2026 @10:29PM (#49369752)
I'd say it's more about the popularity of `ghostty` and what they've showcased with terminal achievements in Zig.

Zig is totally cool to do this in-- no shade intended by this.

It's a sad time to be a fan of Julia-- everyone forgets it's there.

His first sentence is reasonable. The rest of the comment is unhinged.

That doesn't explain Sri Lanka which is past South India...

Edit: The actual answer is North/Eastern Indians speaking an IE variant immigrated to Sri Lanka in the 5th/6th centuries and became the dominant language there since (Sinhala)

Re:Accelerating GPT-5.6 Sol Ultrafast on Thursday August 13, 2026 @02:44PM (#49290263)
They're expanding access to companies that apply for the program and explain their use cases. So it's very real but limited imo.
Re:Mojo 1.0 on Tuesday August 11, 2026 @03:36PM (#49263346)
It's probably very messy and not a great baseline for outside contributors to start create PRs.

That's the favorable interpretation, atleast.

Good luck, `hoplite` triggers a ton of Minecraft media for me and that name has been around 10 years.
Re:Cyberscript on Sunday August 02, 2026 @10:57AM (#49145251)
This gives me "why build dropbox" energy.

We never know when a revelation or unmet customer niche arrives around the corner. Never bet against it.

As someone intimately familiar with Python and not so much with "algebraic abstractions", I looked at your examples and can't figure out how they work (and why the abstraction is useful).

Am I missing something?

I don't know, Andrew "Smelley" Kelly has some big beginner energy..
Re:Annoying and alarming things about OpenCode on Monday July 20, 2026 @10:36AM (#48979494)
I was taking this semi-seriously until I read his CLI complaints.

Author is unhinged.
