Re:Anthropic's growth just flattened (really) on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @10:23AM (#50353165)
These AI companies changed the definition of AGI, to mean can do all white collar work.
Re:OccupySaaS on Sunday November 01, 2026 @11:48PM (#50333247)
this fine, but don't forget to hire the laid of sales and marketing folks. without them, this is going no where.
Re:Product Managers aren't safe either on Saturday October 31, 2026 @12:07PM (#50317416)
if you remove product managers, other folks in the company will need to do the jobs product managers would do. everyone doing a subset of that work.

I thought TPMs were useless, but on a large project, you need somebody nagging everyone and sending updates to senior leadership..

A director will ignore the message sent by an AI bot, but will definitely not ignore a message to sent to them by a TPM with management in email.

this is a terrible article, fire that writer

the media landscape has changed. youtube, tiktok, reels are the dominant media. the money the creators make there dwarfs this 200k loss of jobs.

The issue is, its global, creators aren't limited to desk jobs in america.

Re:Xbox Turns Down Netflix $500M Offer on Sunday October 25, 2026 @01:12AM (#50228527)
you know they paid some 70 billion for activision blizzard?
This is good, punish the shareholders, wallstreet gets the news.

This wealth tax is poorly planned, tax the wealth, but find a better way.

Re:SaaS Is Dead on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @04:08AM (#50177498)
SaaS that's critical for the business is not going to be disrupted.

Once a business grows where tool failure is not a option, they will buy salesforce or similar professional clones.

Now will salesforce be disrupted by a newer CRM called AIForce? Now your paying AIForce instead of paying Benioff.

Re:SaaS Is Dead on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @03:10AM (#50177111)
I won't be hosting my own notes solution.

I thought about hosting my own photos. The time is just not there, cheaper to pay Google.

Until AGI or Super Intelligence saas is not dead.

Once AGI and Super Intelligence here, everything is dead.

Re:Attack of the Vibe Coded Photoshop Clones on Monday October 12, 2026 @08:45AM (#50055637)
where do you get the data from?
Re:Attack of the Vibe Coded Photoshop Clones on Monday October 12, 2026 @08:38AM (#50055561)
the moat is getting wider, it proves vibe coded apps can't replace your business.

only a serious business can replace. figma, canva and other tools. but these are new tools in the same industry.

Re:Anthropic's IPO Prospectus Is a Fucking Doozy on Thursday October 01, 2026 @12:33AM (#49917767)
Anth revenue has probably crossed 70 billion.

The way they calculate that is, last month's revenue x 12.

The leaked numbers are old.

I think its Zuck's new hiring strat,

He hired cred CEO to be whatsapp CEO.

Scale CEO to be AI leader

Now Mongo ceo to lead the AI enterprise sales.

yeah and antropic s1 is going to shock many people, its going to be an eyeopener

however there is the open source cheaper token threat

Re:Tim Cook Sold Out Steve Jobs on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @08:55AM (#49521335)
Steve jobs was even more cut throat, he would have doubled the prices.
Re:GPT 5.6 Sol 20% price reduction on Saturday August 22, 2026 @02:02PM (#49402135)
yes in an ideal world, in business world its all wine dine, contracts, costs savings.

perhaps all the companies should dump teams and use slack.

Re:GPT 5.6 Sol 20% price reduction on Saturday August 22, 2026 @02:45AM (#49397239)
This is a play to grab market share from Claude, But it seems Claude code is too strong of a brand

Until the IT managers and CFOs cut budget hard, Claude will live rent free in heads of all developers

OpenAI should attack the CIO and CFOs stat

At my company we have unlimited codex and claude, still people stick to gimped claude code

Re:Discovery Loop on Wednesday August 05, 2026 @01:53PM (#49186391)
Google stock would drop big if this new company was being funded by competitors
Re:The next chapter of our AI momentum on Wednesday August 05, 2026 @01:46PM (#49186305)
As what? CEO? Demis will not take up the MTS role.
Re:Nvidia's $750B in Deals Reignite Circular AI Fears on Monday July 27, 2026 @03:05PM (#49074233)
if demand for "safe" tokens explodes, this is a no brainier

if open source throws a wrench into the frontier revenue growth, then its gonna be biggest bubble explosion

Re:Android May Soon Restrict On-Device ADB on Saturday July 25, 2026 @04:20AM (#49045628)
bullish on google stock

revenue must go up

Re:AI Bubble vs. Dot Com Crash. History Is Repeating on Sunday July 19, 2026 @01:33AM (#48965270)
not going to watch this

if there is a bubble, then watch out for money supply. if it contracts because of interest rates or some random reason, then bubble will collapse.(if there was a bubble)

also iran war, nobody know what will happen if it escalates to full scale war. nothing good will happen, that's for sure.

Re:Successful Companies Go Blind on Friday July 10, 2026 @12:22PM (#48862053)
Exactly, you need to be in the chosen group. The trusted group.
I think GPT 5.6 sol is pretty slow. I went back to 5.5

Though its been just 3 days I started using.

Half way through the chat, GPT 5.6 Sol stops and does a safety verification, pretty annoying

Folks if you believe this Ed guy, you're soon going be really disappointed.

LLMs are big, Codex app is huge. You can control the browser from within codex app with just natural language.

Tell codex to perform a few actions, you go get coffee and come back to work done. This is real boost in productivity.

Re:Bring Back Crappy Forums on Thursday July 02, 2026 @12:18AM (#48756507)
Reddit, Quora, Twitter, Pinterest won.

Re:The Baffling World of Masayoshi Son's Presentations on Monday June 29, 2026 @12:01AM (#48714630)
yeah I was a uber bear too, some how it has turned around

I was betting on the taxi drivers revolting, but the capital markets have prevailed

Re:SpaceX Is Buying Cursor on Tuesday June 16, 2026 @11:36AM (#48556916)
They are paying for the installed based. The users mainly. And also the team.
they are profitable on tokens. if company itself is profitable is unknown and we will see it soon.
Re:Ask HN: Why is the HN crowd so anti-AI? on Friday June 05, 2026 @11:56PM (#48421237)
Its complicated, this is how its going to be. People are going to have opinions and take sides or take no side at all.
The powers that be are already planning to ban Chinese models.
