SEEKING WORK | REMOTE | WORLWIDE

TZ: Japan

Remote: Yes

Willing to relocate: No

Available for part-time or full-time contract work, preferably on a long-term basis, but I'm also available for smaller projects.

I am very flexible with my working hours (mostly working with clients from Singapore & USA).

I am a backend developer with more than 20 years of experience as well as a senior data scientist and ML/AI enthusiast.

When I am not working on strict backend, I also enjoy Computer Vision and Numerical Computing - ex quant developer, as well as exploratory DNN usages.

Lastly, I laso have a few Web3/crypto experiences under the belt, including work at an exchange.

Re:Building an Open Source GPU on Wednesday May 12, 2021 @05:20AM (#27128326)
I'm a GPU dev (3D/VR) and I did FPGA acceleration in the past, for scientific computing. I can commit to hobby level time due to the other things I am doing. That said, if you need a beta tester and/or help about the GPU compiler, might be able to help ;-). BTW can your design run "simply enough" on F1 instances or U250 cloud instances?

Former speaker at CUFP conference Email: [email protected]

Yes. Was a lot simpler/faster than the usual process. Instead of stereotypical questions, just start to actually do something (analyse, code) so a lot less stress and more the the point.

Re:Why Python is so much fragile? on Monday July 01, 2019 @02:22AM (#20322896)
Scripts != "dev" language. Between lack of static types (mypy is an improvement but compared to typescript-ish annotations in VS code...) and the packaging state we are in you are quite forced to have one virtualenv per key functionnality/magic library dependency. So my guess is... be prepared to use any "simple" web service (flask?) and wrap your magic library dependencies as pseudo webservices in their own virtualenv if not docker/gpu-docker containers. Multithreading is a failure anyway (might get better with per thread interpreter support in 3.8+). Less exciting than the promises of the past but at least "kubernetes+virtualenvs+web services" will work and be testable. Or just use javascript/scala/ocaml/go/erlang/elixir/... + c++/cuda/opencl (real platforms) ;-)
With lambdas classical oop (virtual functions) becomes less of a necessity... That and past overdoses of oop.
