Re:Zed DeltaDB on Thursday August 06, 2026 @12:49AM (#49192581)
I wish Zed in Windows(W11) would have fix the problem with windows(like opening the settings window on Zed) where if your scale is more than 100%(Settings -> System -> Display -> Scale) the title bar doesn't show as it is way up. Been having this problem since forever.
Re:GitHub Copilot is moving to usage-based billing on Monday April 27, 2026 @03:20PM (#47926051)
they're downsizing free github copilot pro for open source maintainers. At the very least, it looks like small open source projects got their free copilot pro cut off
Re:GitHub Copilot is moving to usage-based billing on Monday April 27, 2026 @12:23PM (#47923638)
some of Github's open source maintainers have lost their free github copilot pro, guess this is really the next step for them to save cost in their infrastructure.
Re:OpenAI releases GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.5 Pro in the API on Friday April 24, 2026 @03:07PM (#47894524)
not available for Github Copilot pro(only in pro+, business and enterprise), I am really now feeling the era of subsidized AI is over.
Re:Committing to Rust for Kernel Code on Thursday November 23, 2023 @03:18PM (#38397063)
I don't have much experience and I see C as something I would never be able to touch as they seem quite high level for me with the manipulation of memory and stuff.

And from what I see, Rust can sort of make it easier by making you think about the lifetime of the memory while coding and that's why I really wanted to learn Rust

Re:Rocket – Simple, Fast, Type-Safe Web Framework for Rust on Wednesday November 22, 2023 @12:47PM (#38382448)
do you think it would be hard to transition to Rust and use Rocket?

I mostly just python and kotlin as my languages

hello, if you got some issue. It would be best to go their discord to contest it for the benefit of everyone who is going to use it in the future.

I've done it a few times too, and if ever the recent submission wasn't good they can lock the video from further submissions

I did have problem like this before too and I just made my search better by appending the `after:<insert year here>` to my google search to ensure the latest info

Re:The Fall of Stack Overflow on Tuesday July 25, 2023 @10:21AM (#36862651)
small nitpick but I thought it was just an icon but it turns out to be the button for switching light/dark mode. It would be great if you could replace it.
Re:Twitter has officially changed its logo to ‘X’ on Monday July 24, 2023 @06:58AM (#36845841)
I thought for a second that I click bad link earlier when the X showed up and the twitter logo turn into X.
iirc, Your phone sends signal to all nearby towers and then pick the closest one to connect with, which means the signal towers can also triangulate your location based from your distance to the nearby towers

Oh I did use ublacklist which mixes blocking in both of the google search and the google image search. But curious what is the filter you have in your uBlock origin?

Re:Ask HN: Which AI tools do you use? on Sunday July 02, 2023 @04:35AM (#36559524)
will it be paid? or will it be freemium?
if they penalize users, how they're going to get more data from the said users to sell.
Re:Arduino Uno R4 on Tuesday June 27, 2023 @02:00PM (#36496455)
hate that my download manager keep popping off since it is detecting a playing video
Personally it is more tiring IRL than online, since in online you have time to construct what you gonna say and you can correct it before sending your thought. While IRL, I need to think hard on what to say or say nothing at all.
hopefully someone can create a script for phones since Firefox Nightly in Android got Tampermonkey add on
Re:JetBrains Noria on Wednesday June 21, 2023 @04:53AM (#36416082)

Re:100 Days of Swift – Hacking with Swift on Friday June 16, 2023 @09:18PM (#36366199)
I'm still hoping that Kotlin Multiplatform succeeds. Since kotlin is now the language recommended by Google so should be able to natively write for Android while also being able to deploy to other OS.
Re:Our Plan for Python 3.13 on Thursday June 15, 2023 @09:58PM (#36349994)
question: If RustPython did indeed reach maturity, are we going to need to choose which python interpreter to install on PC? or like on certain python version we will switch to the new interpreter?
