News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

Never in a million years would I want to “unite” to “bargain together.”

Heck, I don’t enjoy crowd participation in shows.

Upgrading 6 million trucks will take years. Trucks are used for millions of miles each.
I cant even afford a hospital stay.

Okay, and how do I delete my data?
> We don't call out competitors specifically

You should. You’re the underdog.

Really... I would expect this naming from an Onion article.

Twitter is gone, in more ways than one. RIP.

He still has fiduciary duty, so presumably he was not alone.
Maybe stop using Android? I feel like there are a lot of decent distros these days. This helps accelerate it.
“Humans are more loyal to belonging than to truth,”

I guess that's why I'm unpopular.

If you prompt your AI to be an asshole, who is the asshole?

That’s a ridiculously rude and inconsiderate prompt.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @07:00PM (#50125920)
Whatever millions they spent on developing this car, are dwarfed by the amount this press coverage is worth.
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @05:16PM (#50124854)
Propane powered cars were (are) on public roads, for better or worse.
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @05:13PM (#50124818)
All fancy sports cars are useless. Like really. To race them? What’s the point?
Isn’t this functionality identical to an approved senders list?

Why this extra complication?

I could just have a normal email and block any domain I haven’t approved, ya?

Your website needs to make this more clear.

Marketing needs some work. I don't really understand your website copy.

It's an uphill battle to trust my email to a 1-person startup. Website doesn't look very professional. Video has weird copy in it, and AI voice.

Perhaps start with a self hosting option until you gain footing.

This is a cool way to think about it!
Maybe just me, but huge complicated languages like C++ seem as unappealing as ever.

If I’m going to write code by hand, the requirement for a beautiful pleasant language is bigger than ever.

Re:11 year old unsoundness bugs found in Rust borrow checker on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @03:34PM (#50093723)
For micros and other embedded spaces.

...on expensive / over-priced Anthropic products.

If you wanted to use this amount of tokens you would find a cheaper provider.

Still some room to be more self-aware.

I just wish Rust handled out of memory more gracefully like a normal error.
Re:US Man Given Prison Sentence for Bot-Farming Music Streams on Thursday October 08, 2026 @08:15PM (#50014263)
A stretch IMO. They were are all real paid users, just “agentic” bot users.

If you pay for a $15/month service, how are you able to make more then $15/month in royalties?
Wow, was not expecting this to be about Photopea! What an amazing piece of software I used it all the time! Less with AI these days, but still lots!
Easier said than done.
Re:Burning Man Death Rates – A Short Lesson in Statistics on Wednesday September 30, 2026 @11:01PM (#49917213)
- "How many people died at Burning man"

- "How many people died due to Burning man"

- "How many people died going to Burning man".

IMO, distinct questions with distinct answers.

Re:10 Tells of a Slop UI on Sunday September 27, 2026 @05:22PM (#49870994)
1st major tell: the website was released in 2025 or later.

Pretty much all websites these days use AI to make them now.

Re:What even is an OS now? on Friday September 25, 2026 @09:10PM (#49852124)
“Go enjoy my family photos for me.”

“Go play video games for me”

“Go create music for me”

Idk. Seems like there is still use for apps.

Re:Uber arbitration award over Emily Normandin-Parker's death on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @07:19PM (#49823998)
Pulling over on the side of the road is not typically considered unsafe. A gore serves that same purpose IMO.
