"intentionally malevolent" -> Stephen Miller's second name. The cruelty is and always was the point.
Idk the pr author did merge it into main and talked about writing a blog post. To me that sounds like the author felt it was ready for public critique and feedback, especially for software with a fair bit of users
Yeah this just reeks of 'old man yelling at cloud' with nothing practical or realistic
They can "sort" it? Nudge nudge wink wink? Amazing.

After the latest executive order, your fortunes are going to change very soon. Hang in there!
Sure, yes works for me as long as we're consistent about it.
Good question. Same answer to both. Glad we agree!
Idk should he be allowed to peddle unhelpful, unsubstantiated conspiracy theories?
For the 100th time?
Do RO filters eliminate these chemicals?
Native Americans?
> So thinking Iran will simply nuke Israel because it has that capability is silly - it would mean mutual destruction.

100%. The Iranian regime is not stupid. The "existential threat" bs being peddled by a certain government is simply to give cover to illegal attacks on a sovereign nation. This is "WMDs in Iraq" all over again.

Heh I guess you've never been subject to taunts such as "go back to your country illegal" or "you don't belong here!". Must be nice!

Re:Zelensky leaves White House after angry meeting on Saturday March 01, 2025 @10:49AM (#43220400)
Glad you agree!

I'm just pointing out that the most plausible reason your fellow countrymen choose to call themselves "expats" wherever they go, is because the rhetoric in your country has dehumanized or made the word immigrants/illegal "dirty".

Not hard to imagine such rhetoric can lead to nastiness all around, ending even in violence against said group. If you don't mind that and see no problem with that, then of course there's absolutely no common ground for us to have any discussion on :)

Re:Zelensky leaves White House after angry meeting on Saturday March 01, 2025 @09:56AM (#43219801)
If we should call things what they are, we should definitely start by calling Americans who emigrate to other countries what they are: immigrants in the other country. Of course most choose to cutely refer to themselves as "expats".
Just big sounding words to make it sound like something nefarious is happening. Nothing of that sort actually happened, just OpenAI trying to save face.
Re:Mark Zuckerberg: This Man Is a Coward on Sunday January 26, 2025 @05:47PM (#42835022)
I don't understand. CEOs cannot be considered cowards?

Something something "capitalism responsibility to shareholders" something
> Point being, call it whatever you want. It won't make a difference.

Sunshine is the best disinfectant, and people knowing what actually happened matters a lot more in the long term than any indifference and apathy in the short term.

Pretty big allegations without any source.

There are plenty of channels that do none of these. As for "algorythm manipulations", YT recommends more of what you like or subscribed to. Not sure what you expect a content aggregator and provider to do. Just have a search bar? I've come across so many interesting channels thanks to the "algorythm manipulations".

Citation needed. Are you saying that if there were a billion YT premium subscribers, YT would still need ads for its scale? I doubt it.

Re:Perplexity Got Ads on Saturday January 04, 2025 @01:14AM (#42592839)
You can literally pay YouTube to avoid ads, watching the mental gymnastics folks on here do to complain about YouTube Premium is my favorite pastime.

Well... have you seen the news lately?

Re:Jeff Dean Responds to EDA Industry about AlphaChip on Saturday November 30, 2024 @09:49PM (#42285754)
Really not sure how you’re conflating product demos which are known to be pie in the sky across the industry (not just Google) with peer reviewed research published in journals. Super basic distinction imho.
Great. Small steps towards the baby murderers being brought to justice, or so one hopes.
Re:Two Upstart Search Engines Are Teaming Up to Take on Google on Wednesday November 13, 2024 @12:01AM (#42123052)
It was the exact opposite for me interestingly. I couldn’t stand chatGPT search beyond a few days, I guess because my search patterns don’t need a bunch of useless words thrown in (locations, very specific keywords that lead to websites etc). The speed is also a big factor. Google search feels almost instantaneous and watching ChatGPT search emit a bunch of tokens before getting to what I need drove me to frustration.

One can only hope it never embeds itself into the culture. One country in the world with this madness is enough...

Oh it's not terrorism if it's done by a US-backed vassal state. /s
