It's not new. With every new iOS release the device can often spend a day or two churning and indexing stuff.

Fortunately the Kentucky NWS office in Jackson was fully staffed during the recent events. It's still not staffed 24/7, but at least they bring in people when things inclement weather is occuring.

All my former co-workers who slacked off don't work at my company any more. It was painfully obvious who was working and who was not.

And here's a website that maps out where the current POTA, SOTA, and WWFF (the precursor to POTA) radio operators are at right now.

There are no hypoallergenic dogs. There are degrees to which dogs shed, but it's not specific to any one breed and can vary wildly.

At a previous job we utilized https://webtranslateit.com/ - it organized everything easily for volunteers to provide translations for all resx strings.

Is it? Their comment might come from having worked at companies where code reviews aren't even a thing, let alone source control. It's crazy out there, especially if you're nowhere near Silicon Valley.

This RTMP/RTSP/HLS docker container bridge is leagues better, and there's no firmware to mess with.

You are correct. A recent study found that un-vaccinated individuals are 2.34 times as likely to be re-infected than vaccinated individuals.

Get vaccinated.

As someone with experience in the veterinary industry I highly recommend pet insurance unless you can afford paying out-of-pocket for surprise procedures. It can be expensive.

Also, be sure to take your pet to a vet at least once a year for annual checkups and preventative care. Do not wait for a reason to go in. So many people call in to have their pet looked at when some weird symptom appears, only to discover that their pet now has an issue that could have been prevented if they had been visiting regularly.

You don't need to, but doing so with a virtual on-screen keyboard is annoying and slow compared to using a separate laptop.
Re:Christopher Tolkien has died on Thursday January 16, 2020 @11:25PM (#22071839)
I enjoyed all of the prequel books. They have a more modern feel to them when compared to the classic Dune novels, so that's what may turn some people off.

I haven't heard of any webcams that work in iOS via the CCK - sorry!

I'm not too familiar with how it all works, but I imagine it has a lot to do with the individual apps that are running to be able to read/write to the USB port.

Re:iPadOS on Tuesday September 24, 2019 @12:16PM (#21061723)
You can connect quite a few things via the Camera Connection Kit (CCK) which has a USB port in it. MIDI controllers and USB soundcards are two things I've used recently.

Yes! It's easy to regrow kitchen scraps and so few people know anything about it which is a shame. For anyone interested, I recommend the book "No-Waste Kitchen Gardening"[1] for some useful tips.

People buy Nintendo sytems to play Nintendo games. You're not going to play the latest Zelda or Mario game on a random Android tablet.
You can lock down Teamviewer pretty tight, including a whitelist that allows only you to log in.
